My advice to helos in general would be like you all are saying.....with an emphasis....perhaps a triple emphasis on LISTENING. I'm sort of being facetious but in reality, it does seem like your standard phraseology is "this is me, let me read you a book report about my position and intentions and step on all other comms before I go back to doing helicopter things"

FW Landing comms w/ Tower:
“Call the initial”
“Report numbers for the break”
“Check wheels down, cleared land runway XYZ”
RW Landing comms w/Tower:
“Dragonball123, report chinaman’s hat, report established left down runway XYZ, take a left on bleaker street for Kansas City Karen’s alpaca farm noise abatement, call visual 2 hornets on base, confirm panty colors are light blue or pink, request right 360 for KC-130 GCA handoff spacing, land first 500m on runway XYZ, cancel landing clearance runway XYZ, sidestep taxiway alpha”
