So, prove it. Just prove it. Just give me one study that says military recruiting focuses on the economically unfortunate. Find me one study that shows poor people end up doing the most dangerous jobs in the military. Find just those simple things - because I can link to studies that prove you not just off target, but entirely wrong.

And, if you can’t prove it…just go away until you educate yourself.

Thank you for posting this well written opinion piece. It is clear the Marine officer who wrote it did solid research to arrive at his pre-determined point, as all excellent opinion writers do. Major Warfield is unquestionably an intelligent man and gifted writer, his skills will take him far.

It seems that this is always the first rebuttal people say whenever someone mentions diversity or anything else they disagree with.

Why can't the Navy do both? These things aren't mutually exclusive.

Actually the military does a lot at CCMDs that have very little to with war fighting. OAIS, JCETs, BPC missions, SC, etc.

Very few of those senior staff officers have any role in war fighting or planning.
