I don’t watch Newsmax or OAN but every time I watch Fox News they are in favor of getting the vaccine.

I’m sure your heroes at the Mostly Socialist News and Communist News Network will be set the world straight. Just like they did when they buried the news about the source of COVID because Trump.

But I understand, it’s part of the libtard code of ethics to automatically shit talk Fox News regardless of the actual facts.

Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson, heir to the Swanson frozen fish empire, LaJolla native, has most certainly gotten the vaccine.

But, he just likes asking questions. It's the dumb faux populism that he broadcasts (boomer catnip) that causes vulnerable populations to not get the vaccine.

I gave you a like just for this. I don't think I've yet heard that expression but I think it's funny as hell.

Honestly, it's a nearly weekly occurrence of having a conversation with my mom that goes something like this:

"Did you hear what <insert C-list Hollywood celebrity, or radical professor from Portland State CC of Marxism> said about Trump?

"No, and I don't care. Why do you?"

It's all from the perpetual outrage machine at Fox. I guess it works.

It's similar shit at CNN and MSNBC, but I'd argue that Fox is on a different level. Just my two cents...

Unfortunately misinformation affects “both sides” as vaccinated people tend to still be more scared of the virus than unvaccinated people. People avoiding the vaccine because they think it changes their DNA or contains a Bill Gates microchip is unfortunate. It’s more unfortunate to see people still unable to go back to normal because our public health officials lied to them over and over about the efficacy of the vaccines and the lasting immunity from previous infections.

Ironically when I see someone still wearing a face diaper around here, it’s most likely someone who has been vaccinated.

How are vaccinated people more scared of the virus than unvaccinated people? Is there any data to support this?

Snake handlers are less afraid of death from snake venom than your average Joe, but that doesn't mean it's good practice.

Lots of articles and polls saying vaccinated folks and left leaning folks are more worried about catching/dying from scaryvirus. Some of that makes perfect sense, if you’re at risk you should be more concerned and more likely to get vaccinated. Several examples posted on this thread, as well as young people and left leaning people tending to have vastly exaggerated perceptions of risk.

@JTS11 For every Tucker Carlson viewer not getting vaccinated there is also a MSN, CNN, etc viewer wearing multiple masks despite being vaccinated because they don’t believe in the vaccine.

Even if I were to accept your premise (people getting vaccinated don't believe in vaccine? wearing multiple masks?), isn't the Tucker effect worse for public health?

If you want to wear 3 masks, or 2 crocheted condoms, go for it. I give zero shits.

Someone should be asking questions. The vaccine is a new type never used before. No one really knows if it will have side effects years from now. There have been many medical drugs and treatments that were later found to have bad unplanned side effects.

This list has drugs withdrawn from the market for many different reason and includes many examples of drugs withdrawn due to unforeseen side effects. This risk is why drug research is so expensive.

Not getting the vaccine because it’s new technology is a valid reason. But then you had your chance and the public/government does owe you any special protection like keeping any of the COVID restrictions. If you get sick so be it.

think getting the vaccine and then not trusting it by continuing to wear a mask does more to undermine the vaccine then asking questions which a person can further research if they desire.

I get wanting to wear a mask and not pass it on to someone else, even if you've been vaccinated. My MIL is 88, been vaxxed for a month or two, and now we believe she has it. All the symptoms, just low grade. The thought is my wife (vaxxed) gave it to her. She's barely seen anyone else. But who knows.

But for yourself...my theory is if you've been vaxxed and you get exposed to it or a variant of it, it will act like a booster shot. Renew your antibodies and all that. That would be A Good Thing.
give zero shits if someone chooses to not get the vaccine
Because your vaccine helps protect others through herd immunity

Your theory is that your wife, who is vaxxed, gave Covid to her mom, who is also vaxxed, because she has Covid like symptoms, which are also the symptoms of a common cold or the flu?

Sounds like you also don't believe the vax works to 95%+ efficacy. If it does, and my math isn't wrong, then assuming your wife was exposed to Covid for long enough to contract it (very low chance of that happening statistically) AND your MIL was exposed long enough to your wife (even lower chance of this happening as well), then there would STILL be only a .25% chance of your MIL contracting Covid from your wife. That means the real chances are astronomically small compared to your MIL just having a cold or other illness.

Funny how much this proves the point that the vaccinated are more likely to be scared of Covid.
