Europe under extreme duress

CJCS: "It probably broke up. There's probably not a lot to recover, frankly,'' Milley said. "As far as the loss of anything of sensitive intelligence, etc., as normal we would take and we did take mitigating measures, so we're quite confident that whatever was of value is no longer of value.''

Per the USAF fact sheet, that would not be per aircraft, but for a package of four aircraft, ground station, and the SATCOM link.

Ahhhh…a package deal. Sweet!

Interesting to see how quickly we released the footage. Rule #1 of an intercept is to not hit what you're intercepting.

The Instagram videos are great.
For just the airplane? I’m surprised it’s that much, actually.

That sounded high to me too. I think I saw an $11M figure somewhere recently.

11M is more accurate for a baseline airplane. Pods and some other stuff cost more. The USMC probably knows the whole system cost better. I don't think AF or ANG has bought a complete system in a few years.

I laughed out loud at "the drones abrupt maneuver" part. Hold onto your vodka Ivan, we're about to do a 10 degree AOB turn!

Speaking of bears....was headed home from east coast a couple weeks back, dark, quiet night up at 380 or something. Out of the blue, Captain Happy checks in "GOOOD EVENING MINNIE CENTER, DELTA XYZ, 350 with 2 questions"

[mildly amused center controller] "Roger Delta XYZ, go ahead"

(first question was something related to their clearance and the GLASR arrival into SEA). "Ok next question.....what do you call a bear with no teeth?"

.......random dad on freq comes up with "a gummy bear"

"yes, yes, that's right haha. Ok, why aren't Koala's considered to be bears?"

[I think you can almost hear the center controller's eyes roll into the back of her head at this point out of cringing]

[more silence]

"Because they don't have the KOALAFICATIONS!"

"Delta, there must be a lonely lady somewhere tonight missing her comedian"
