FEB AMDO, IW & SWO rolling boards

I am, I submitted my package in September because I was in a transfer window. I was hoping to get my SOY eval input but CDR Haas said if he did it for me, he would have to let everyone who submitted add on evals and awards so that kinda sucks.

Solid brother sounds like you got some good ammo for the board. Hopefully the vote swings our way! I am still hoping that the results will be out by the 25th.

Do you guys think that this means they WILL be canceling the August board? Its almost kind of discouraging. I may have to apply for a different designator. :-/

I can't confirm that, however I can say they have cancelled the Aug. board the past 2 years in a row.

In general AMDO has only actually held one board per year, can't even remember the last time 2 were held

If the board is cancelled I will probably be applying for the SWO rolling board. I would also consider the SWO(IP)/IW boards. What do you think my chances are having a background in aviation maintenance but having a degree in Computer Science?

That degree is good, so you will probably have a better shot at IW then most, SWO IP and IP have very minimal billets each year, normally single digits, by the time you find out if AMDO is cancelled or not you will have missed several boards for SWO and IW, and you could get caught in the funding issues that always come up at the end of the year.

This question is a little off topic, but I'm sure someone has some gouge on it, and don't mind my optimism, but after OCS and the followon school(for AMDO) does the platform selection or order negotiating take into account previous maintenance experience, is it based on scholastic performance, or is it exclusively needs of the navy? thanks

I have heard that you pretty much find out right after OCS what platfrom you will be going to. I think they look at what the Navy needs and then they offer you a choice from what they have.

Hey everyone. I'm getting anxious abor results and can't seem to find a Board to follow for what I submitted for...

I am currently awaiting results back from 14Feb Boards for Navy Intel, IW, IP, and SWO.( those were my choices in order) I would love se feedback about chances for people that have no experience in military.

College Athlete, Captain all three years
Graduated in three years by taking 22 credits a semester
Traveled the world by myself
Captain in High School Varsity Softball and Basketball
Involved in college SGA, Spanish Club, among 3 other groups/boards

References from 2 retired Jag Officers and 2 Star General Brigadier

Slightly confused on how selections take place regarding my order of choices.
