It may be my perception, but I believe the hurrevac of jets are slightly easier than the fat kids. The fat kids need more love and support on the road. 😆

Well I mean yeah, and we can be on the west coast by early afternoon too. Do helicopters have better mental health when they are on the ramp with other helicopters? I feel like they must be emotional creatures

No...not emotional. Purely mechanical.

I get scared when I hear people talking about flying with a 'wire'.😁

Did a hurrevac to Memphis in a TH-57 "old Bravo" with an aircrew in the other seat. One of the SNA's dad was an executive for Coors, and we basically got sponsored by the plant while we were there - with daily "tours" which were basically drink-a-thons with "take home" party favors. It was epic. There was probably over 100 TW-5 aircraft there.

Anybody have the Rotor USCG timeline with locations? Normal and with the new rotor pipeline(COPTR) . I'm aware first step is pensacola for NIFE, that's about it. Thanks guys!

In other news - looks like the T-45 fleet is getting an upgrade in paint and livery! I dig the "gloss grey"

Going to be basically the same as navy/marine bubbas. Right now they have slightly less of waits in between phases, but nothing crazy (think like a month-ish). However that could always change, like last year before dept of homeland security ponied up some extra cash, the coastie wait times were pretty significantly longer than navy/marines

Next COPT-R class graduates next week. 2 full classes (USN and USCG SNAs) are funded for January 2025. Heard CNATRA is "doubling down".

My timeline:
Commissioned: March 2022
Reported to Pensacola: June 2022
Still 220+ in line for NIFE. Which translates to another ~6ish months
Update for anyone still wondering about timelines at least for helo side:
Started NIFE Nov 2022 finished April 2023
Checked into TW5 May 2023
Started Primary Aug 2023 Selected mid-January 2024
Started Adv end of March 2024 LFF end of November

Almost 3 years to the day when I started OCS and finishing advanced

^^^ actually not that bad. Young AF 2LTs are commissioning, then being put in the IRR until UPT start date - often 12-18 months.
