I'm with everybody here, I want to know as soon as possible, besides..... I just got to my new command in June, and my package was submitted while still at my previous command. My new CO won't even be looking at the results, nobody applied from this command.

But that's ok... All the message traffic at my command comes in through my office, and I got specific instructions to be informed as soon as it shows up!

So I guess it's a race to see who posts it on here first.

Today is a bad news day. I'm halfway between Sacramento and Las Vegas, hoping to celebrate the results. Snapped the bolts on my Harleys belt drive pulley. Stuck in Bakersfield:( while my buddies are drinking like sailors.

I'll be back on here in the morning before I hit the road. If anyone gets the results this weekend I'll gladly buy you dinner for a week at NSI. 916 251 6556

I just checked NPC and message 282/08 is still missing. They have posted 283 and 284....I'm wondering about this...

you can't transfer after the July 1st date. If you have orders after the submission deadline date, then your transfer is suspended until notification of selectee or not.

OPNAVINST chapter 8 paragraph 10. Guidelines for transferring and PCS.

OPNAVINST 1420.1A
10. Transfer Policy. Candidates for STA-21 who receive PCS orders on or after the STA-21 application deadline shall not be transferred until officially notified of selection or consecution to STA-21.

Trust me when I say I know all the instructions, regulations, and administrative procedures for this program. Humm...

Yes, you can transfer after July 1st.

If you receive orders before July 1st to transfer sometime after July 1st, you execute those orders, as per the sentence you quoted from the instruction.

UPDATE as of 10-17-2008:

Although the wording of the instruction is such that it can mean what I said originally, it is not intended to mean that at all and is meant to read that if you will transfer after the deadline, your orders get held, not if you receive orders after the deadline.

If that happens I'll do my best to get that post deleted. This, like advancement results, should be something that an individual finds out from the CO. I am glad I found out from a CO who had a huge grin on his face when he told me, as opposed to checking some online forum and finding out from some nameless person.

Hey dude, I only meant to help people out. :( Whether you realize it or not, the results will eventually end up on this forum. If they really want to "find out from their CO" then they shouldn't be browsing this section of the forums... and don't get me wrong I think finding out from your CO would be pretty bad ass, however, that's not going to happen for everyone. And whether you "delete" what I post, what I would reveal is only the official message... since it'd be in Message Traffic, in our already understood NAVADMIN form, thus being accessible from other resources as well.

I understand your intentions, but that's a pretty narrow minded view to assume that everyone wants to find out the results like how you fortunately did. For me? I work in Radio 12 hours a day, the likelihood of me reading my own STA-21 results and reporting them to my own boss, is pretty damn high. That's just an example of how an individual would NOT "find out from their CO".

But, I can't stop you from deleting my post, so if they do come out, and I happen to be on watch, then I'll just make post saying the results are out and if someone PM's me asking if they made it, I'll tell them. :D

/sarcasm Thanks for acknowledging my good intentions though, and ignoring the few others that could careless how they find out.

It is fine if this is your opinion. If you do not like this, then just stop logging in here or viewing it! It is very selfish and arrogant to place your opinion and agenda on the rest of us. Some of us prefer to find out as soon as possible, whether it comes through here or our CO's.
