HUh, you must of missed out on learning tact and manners. Being a jerk will not get you far. Read regs before offering quick criticism and judgment. "Treat others as you wish to be treated" You are not showing proper form of a gentleman and a potential officer.

He is an officer.

We should all be courtious to each other nomatter what our status is... officer, enlisted, selectee, nonselectee, E-2, E-7. We are all on here for the same reasons, and we should not stray from that... to share information, ask questions, get guidance, and just talk to people going through the same situations.

As an officer, you are held to a higher standard. You should be helping, guiding, and mentoring your juniors, and if you aren't.... maybe that's something you should work on, because the nomatter what our job is, pilot, nurse, etc... remember you are first and formost a naval officer and that means a leader. Whether you are good at it or not, that is what is expected of you. You should be setting the example, and never tearing it down.

I hope that all of us, when we become officers, we never forget this.

It is fine if this is your opinion. If you do not like this, then just stop logging in here or viewing it! It is a jerk thing to do to the rest of us and is very selfish and arrogant to place your opinion and agenda on the rest of us. Some of us prefer to find out as soon as possible, whether it comes through here or our CO's.
I understand your intentions, but that's a pretty narrow minded view to assume that everyone wants to find out the results like how you fortunately did. For me? I work in Radio 12 hours a day, the likelihood of me reading my own STA-21 results and reporting them to my own boss, is pretty damn high. That's just an example of how an individual would NOT "find out from their CO".

The right thing to do is to allow the chain of command to work. They are the ones supporting the package that you submitted. They should be the ones to notify you of selection. I found out here that the results were released when I was selected. I then found out the next day from the OIC that I was on the list. There wasn't a mad dash call to a friend IT or anything like that. It's not the jerk thing to do, it's the professional thing to do, in my opinion. When the CO puts his name in your support, he should be the one notifying you of selection. You may think that it's a given, and if that's the case, you have a lot to learn.

I hope all of you find out from bol.navy.mil under selection board results...:D

Thats where I found out in 2004

Then a week later an E-3 with the Command career counselor told me i was selected. .. Yipee :sleep_125
Get it first where you can...

Honestly.. the results come out in a NAVADMIN that is protected for the first 7 days so the chain of command's have a chance to tell their sailors. Thats how it has been for the past years.

So if they make it to the open internet then I say so be it and congrats. No need to dictate how or where people find out. If the command really cares then they will be on top of it and let their sailors know asap.

FC2. This has nothing to do with chain of command. This forum was created for sharing information, asking questions, and networking. Opinions, facts, and experiences are welcomed, whether similiar or different. Blocking or hindering this is illmannered. We are miitary 24/7. This site exists on the civilian side though. The posting of a public NAVADMIN is not against any rules. Relax, you have a lot to learn, but it will come over time. With age and experiences, growth will occur. It takes time and you will get there. Remember, patience is a virtue. Lets be repectful, no matter how strong we are in our convictions.

I seriously hope you're kidding. I'm pretty sure I went through this entire process before you were even in the Navy. I have a pretty damned good idea of what I'm talking about. Opinions are one thing, personal attacks are another. Watch the ground that you tread on.

Let's calm down. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if someone has the results I sure as hell want to know, lol. If you don't then simply stay off this thread until your CO has notified you(or not notified). The professional thing to do is not try to make choices for other people. Let everyone be an adult and make their own decision if they want to get the results earlier.

FC2spyguy, no hard feelings. Relax. We can all get along. I meant no harm. I understand and have empathy for your opninion. My family has served the navy for 130 years. The Navy and Executive building you see as my picture, was built by my 3xgrandfather and another architect. I have alot more in the upper officer ranks and enlisted ranks. (I did not use any of them or let anyone know who my relatives are or were in my package) I understand and was raised with proper form of a gentleman and an officer. Again, no hard feelings.

I like candy. Makes for a hard trip to the dentist once in a while. Sometimes I look on the internet, and see that I'm chomping at the bit. It occoured to me that this is simply a game to them, and they read these forums and laugh hardily until we stop struggling to figure it out. They are smart. Im really bored..

After sitting in Afghanistan and reading this board daily, hoping the results are about ready to come out, I finally broke down and created and account. Just wanna say hello and goodluck to all, there is some great information on this board. Lets all hang in there just a little longer!

Duty Duty Duty... Man i love sundays. :D

hey, maybe everyone could calm down a little... this back and forth taking place is no more productive than all the previous speculation. Surely we can get along.

Yeah, that sucks. However, having kids to wake you up early everyday of the weak isn't a walk in the park either ... :)
