Well im 26, applying for the IWO program only (too old for core), as I stated earlier this is my 5th time around. If im not selected I just got orders to the Iwo Jima as the LPO. I will continue to apply for the STA-21 program and next year I am going to submit a package for LDO as well.

Im 27 and an IWO cand. too.. I knew I was too old for Core, but wanted them to know I wanted this still by throwing in a Core as a secondary, they noted it that I was too old for Core, but atleast they know I would if I could.

Someone is just making up stories to get people off of their back... they'll be out when they're released...

Core, is an option where you can get accepted to the program and fill out a dream sheet of designations during your junior year of college and get assigned according to the needs of the navy in your senior year

Nice! I'm an IS1 as well. Which ship were you on? What years? I was on the Wasp from Apr 03 till Aug 06.

On the Bonny Dick (BHR) from Apr 03 to Sep 06. good ship.

Must be nice, I was doomed from bootcamp to report there. I suppose I made the best of it but I am not sure if the amphib Navy is quite right for me

My boyfriend applied OCEANO and CORE. He was an alternate last year.
