Update:

The delay is the fact that it has to go via three Admirals (NSTC, NETC, and BUPERS). As of this morning, the NAVADMIN was in BUPERS and they anticipate release by end of the week.

Must be nice, I was doomed from bootcamp to report there. I suppose I made the best of it but I am not sure if the amphib Navy is quite right for me

Haha Yeah it was my first duty station as well. It had its up's and down's, but I accomplished a lot while on there so I can't complain. When were you onboard?

Thats why they hold the board in sept. It shouldn't take an entire month for three people to see and chop the message. Well thats the Navy for you.

Thats a tough one, its a toss up between Seychelles and Malta. What sucked was the surge to Lebanon and the subsequent two months of added time.

I applied HR. I'm not qualified for CORE and this is my first year applying. Did anyone else apply HR? I know I asked before, but I didn't get much response. Just curious I guess.

I would say it is more of a mix of both. But each year is slightly different.

If I dont get picked up for SWO/ED then I'm going to go to Ship's Supt where I'm stationed at now so I can build on my Chief package and apply for LDO next year. I wouldnt mind being a Surface Engineer the rest of my life. But I hate being stuck in this dead end MR rate, I made 1st class in 5 years and they advanced 0, ZERO, BIG-FAT-GOOSE-EGG, Chiefs this time around. I just want an answer I dont care if I got picked up or not this is just holding up a lot of stuff right now for me. Hopefully I get it, good luck to everyone!!!

My husband was an MR for his first 4 years in. On the Lincoln. Then he got out and ended up having to come back as an SK for about 3 months before EOD school. He loved being an MR, but hated how tight the advancement is. Good luck!
