haha still another hour till we (most likely don't) hear the results!
We were fortunate last year that one of our fellow candidates was on watch when the list came in over message traffic to his command. There were a lot more applicants on here last year, and nobody as of yet has come forward this year to imply that they may have access to message traffic as it comes in. I don't think we'll be as fortunate this year, but we'll probably still know before my CO tells anyone at least.

The irritating thing is that they've probably been sitting on someone's desk for days just waiting to be signed...
Its a navadmin we ll probably see it on the npc website at the same time if not before it comes across message traffic. Ive been seeing the navadmins on npc over the last couple days before the command would distribute them.
Hey everyone! I got picked up last year but I'm eagerly waiting for the results for my husband and saw this mega stream of threads. As for the alternates, it's not about how fast you get in your information... It all depends on whether someone that was picked up declines the acceptance or is medically disqualified after the screening. There is no guarantee for any of the alternates... also, if someone does decline or get disqualified it depends on what community they were accepted for, because then they will pick an alternate from that community as well.
I'm packing a bunch of stuff in my car as we speak for the three day weekend, and it would be nice have news... good or bad, to take home with me. I'm tired of sitting around in limbo not knowing if i'm going to Sea, or going to school.

I think they were referring to the number alternate. The quicker you get your stuff in, the higher up on the list you will be if someone in your community drops.
This has been repeated on this website from alternates of previous years plus I heard it from the STA-21 coordinator last year as I was an alternate.
That's because that is where the CCC probably gets them.
If a person has access to message traffic (such as an M3 account or a subscription on SIPR) the message comes through pretty much real time. When I check my M3 account I get the messages the time that they are stamped. When the Navy Birthday message came out, it popped into my queue at exactly 061741Z.
