lmao true... true...
Still nothing new from M3. I'm off to a meeting - no access to M3 for the rest of the day. Keep in mind though that I live 15 minutes from base and I am more than willing to visit the watch in my PJs for NAVADMIN 3xx/09!!

Does anyone have any new updates on when they might come out? I just keep hearing no time soon. Would just be nice to have an idea I guess.

Look people, don't worry about it. The president hasn't even signed the 2010 defense authorization act into law yet. Therefore, no branches have money. Therefore STA-21 doesn't have money. Therefore they aren't going to release results yet for an unfunded program. Stop looking for the admin, sit back on the couch, pop a beer, and wait for el jefe to put pen to paper. Until then, you're just wasting time looking for the NAVADMIN.

For those who are curious, STA-21 is a year to year line item, not a multi year line item. Which means, that when the money is acquired for the program, the full amount of the programs cost for all 36 months of all selectees tuition plus operations cost for the program and NSI for the next year. So last year they got all the monies for FY09n selectees to make it the whole way through even if funding was cut mid way through their schooling. This means that until the program is funded for FY10, there IS NO FY program.

Last year, the bill was signed into law on Cspan and CNN, as the defense budget is a big deal.

If this is true, this eliminates our hope that we won't fall under the new guidelines in this years Defense Bill, which means it looks like we will all have to wait 23 years now to retire :icon_rage

I talked to my new CMC and he assured me that the results were not affected by the NDAA. he said the money for sta-21 doesnt come from this pot and we should good results no matter what, like last year when they came out 4 days before it was signed.

I agree, I just looked into it and this doesn't pay for STA-21 expenses year-by-year per se. And historically you do see the results coming out often before passage of the NDAA.

I know there was a discussion about this a few days back, but here's a breif out take from that bill that leonard put up about the STA-21 program.

Section 503 -
Excludes active-duty service after January 1, 2011, while pursuing a degree under the Navy's Seaman to Admiral program from the computation of years of service as an officer for voluntary retirement purposes, but counts such service in the computation of years of active-duty officer service for all other purposes.

Politician are such a pain in the a**!
