Now projected to cost $276 billion, the joint strike fighter is the Pentagon's most expensive weapons program and is being developed in three different versions -- for the Air Force, Navy and Marines -- as well as overseas customers.

Looks like we will soon find out the name of the F-35, I'm so giddy, I've fallen in love with the plane all over again. When I get back to Texas, I'm gonna have to take a trip to Dallas to see the facility:D

Can you actually tour the facility in Fort Worth? That seems a bit...off...

Viking or Hoover?

Isn't the plant in Fort Worth?
What's the official name of the S-3, I've only heard Viking?

Officially, it is the Viking, but to anyone in the air wing, it is the "Hoover"

Some of my favorite S-3 patches

If you ever sat in a Ready Room and had one taxi over your head, you'd know instantly why they are the "Hoover".

The F-35 is projected to cost around $85 million/ aircraft....whereas the F-22 is about $185 million per aircraft. .... I wonder how many superhornets that would buy?
