can you auto Rotate a T-45 or any jet??? I think not....straighten the back, feet on the Rudder pedals, head back and pull the handle and live to go get drunk that night! Verse waking up talking to St. Peter and dead relatives.

Really? Is that how it works? Huh, interesting, because I've autorotated 100's of times. Guess I'm just lucky.

oh I was just poking fun. hell, down here we don't even get parachutes, which simplifies the whole "ditch or order bailout" dillema.

and for what it's worth I think the ruler belongs in 90% of these threads.

Don't get dead set on any one airframe at this stage in the game. When you get to primary and start flying you will start to get a feel for what airframe will not only be fun but will be right for you and you will do well in...

From the outside flying a jet seems cool ..... you don't know how it feels to pull Gs, fly the jet, etc. There were many people who only after flying in Primary realized that jets wouldn't be right for them. Keep an open mind.

Jets have the highest cutoff, then E-2/C-2, then helo and P-3 are open to anyone.
<P>
...

From my time, jets and E2/C2 had the same cut-off, it was a 50 NSS. Have things changed?

When I selected in Aug it was 55 for jets, and I think 48 for E2/C2. Not entirely sure about the E2/C2 numbers.

I'm pretty sure that it's 50 for Jets and E2/C2. Now that's the minimum, depending on the week you'll need higher than that to be competitive for the slots. I.E.- 55 etc.

You pointy nose guys always forget an important step - wait for the helo guy to pick me up THEN go get drunk that night (after the battery of tests at medical and statements...)

And I agree with GatorDev, I've autorotated countless times and lived to talk about it...

Agree wholeheartedly with that statement. When I started API, I wanted Harriers. After Fam 3 in Primary, I thought it was boring. I told my own wing I was thinking about helos, he got me off the schedule and sent me to South Field for the day. After getting a ride in a TH-57 with an instructor there was no looking back. I came back and told my instructor that he sealed the deal and I was going helos.
