July 2013 and/or Rolling Board

PRO-REC Y Supply June 2013
Lol, if you haven't heard yet, the SNA, SNFO boards have been selecting upwards of 90-100 percent of applicants in order to fill recent shortages...the old standard would not have that high of a selection rate...they need to fill some slots...hopefully it stays that way awhile longer! ;)

You never can tell, a few years ago we were told there were lots of spots and then they cancelled boards last minute.
Oh man that would be so upsetting if this were to occur. Let's all hope that this does not happen for the sanity of those on this forum and those that are not as well.

What is this old standard you speak of?
In a nutshell, applicants were not considered with ASTB scores below a 7 (PFAR for SNA and FOFAR for NFO) and a GPA below 3.0. Occasionally you would see an applicant picked up with less than 3.0 if they had a stellar ASTB, as in 9's across the board. I know everyone says it is/was the whole person approach but those were the two game changers before the demand was so high.

Does anyone know if SWO candidates have to do the whole interview process (phone and in-person interview) after the pro-rec?

I wonder why the demand is high right now...

The demand is high not because of the need for more pilots but due to the errors of NRC that changed the board schedule and led to people losing interest after waiting months for a board, poor screening by OR's leading to people who were not going to ever be PQ to get pro Y and then NPQ, OR's not fully explaining the commitment after winging and then people going "how many years?", the last 2 are a direct result of NRC going to application goaling which is where the NRD gets credit for application submitted vice those picked up.

I can attest to this. My recruiter never once mentioned a pilots service commitment after being winged. Then again I did a lot of research so I already knew.

It's a 10 year commitment ~2 years to get winged and then 8 years after winging. Gotta pay back on the investment they made on you to become a NA.

sighted nothing..sank same.
I was just told that I can't resubmit for this board. Apparently the instruction says that you have to wait 6 months. If this is the case, then how was I allowed to submit for the January and March boards? SMH
