The CO and CCC should get a message but from what I understand we will also be on the big list which goes to the NRD's so my DIVO (who is an OR) is also watching for the information.

I don't care where it comes from, I just want to know yay or nay!

Are you NFO/SNA or SWO?

SWO, Frustrating because two years ago when I was a recruiter I would have known already lol

Does anyone know if the COC gets word about packages? I am active duty, so other than bothering the OCS desk I'm not sure where to go.

I spoke with them today and they said NPC has received the results, I am waiting on them to upload my status.

It's my understanding the your CO will get the word, not sure how they find out..

I hear ya, I would nag your CCC....only cause you can't nag your CO to keep his email open all day lol. Hopefully it will be tomorrow if they are just pending final release approval, nothing to hold them up since NFO/SNA are already released.

If you hear something post up on here so I can be more prompt and assertive with my nagging!

I've been at Fort Knox for the last two months and haven't been able to see mine at all. Headed home Thursday though and can't wait! I also have to find a job in the interim before OCS...it would be helpful if I could get a class date soon and know if I can go back to my old job at Chick-fil-A or something more for grown-ups...
Ya leaving my baby boxer for 3 months will suck :(

Were you working with LT Joe Cylc? He was the freaking man, and I spoke with him the day I finalized my package for the selection board. I emailed him last week and got "Hi, this is LT Smith. Cylc isn't here anymore and I'm in Florida for the next 3 weeks." I almost had an aneurysm when I read that. I can't believe Cylc, though. He seemed so gung-ho about helping me get into OCS, it's surprising to hear he finished up his service obligation after ROTC and bounced without a word to anyone. I wouldn't say Smith is a bad guy as much as he just doesn't seem to be on top of his game. Oh well. If I don't hear tomorrow morning, I'm going to start calling the NRD office every few hours and will probably have my dad get involved (O-4 in PHS) just because an officer who outranks everyone in the Philly office carries a bit more weight than one kid who is tired of not hearing anything.

Please, if you want to have a conversation about a specific OR keep it to PM. Official names are not used in any other part of AW either(at least not that I have seen)

This may be a tad redundant with this site, but is there an FB page for NFO / NA selects? I think it would be fun to have a more casual spot to get to know your classmates and brothers-in-arms on a different, more social level (not to be taken wrongly). If not, would anyone support such an idea?

I have heard of people on AW's making groups on FB. Be careful though I heard the DI's like to infiltrate those FB groups :D

absolutely not a good idea, you very well could find out in a bad way how some USN officers view PHS officers.

I have just learned a lot from this experience. If I ever become a recruiter, I swore to myself that I will do these things:
1) Always call back when I say I am going to call back, even if I don't have the information I said I would call back with. I would just say that news is still on its way.
2) I will always be proactive in calling to get things done and do check up calls on applicants to see where they are.
3) I will call for results as SOON as I receive them! I won't use weekends or vacations as a reason to keep extremely anxious hopefuls out of the loop.
4) I will make the applicants completely aware that it's always okay to call and ask questions.

That's all I have for now, but I feel pretty adamant.

Everything you have listed is what successful recruiters have done.

My recruiter is a fellow First Class and has been nothing but helpful since he picked up my case this winter. He hasn't held my hand, but he has done what he has said he would and answered all my questions or found answers for me. I have no complaints about working with STG1 Sydney out of NRD New England, he's done a great job. He's been a lot better than the ENCM I worked with a few years ago who was on the ROAD program, when I was brand new to the Navy: I'm still not actually sure if my application went to the board back in 2010 or not.

Here's the biggest piece of advice I have for everyone here from my short time in the Navy: never forget about your junior sailors and don't screw people over just because you have short-timer's syndrome. Do what you say you will, or do a proper turn-over.

I worked with an ENCM about that time, he was attentive, hard working, motivated, and one of the best OR's I worked with, I also know the one you mentioned in NRD NE, he was the complete opposite of the one I worked with, but NRD NE has issues back then so him being on the ROAD program fit right in.

Hey guys, I'm NRD Philadelphia too. There is no sense calling the NRD to see what the news may be. We are all anxious, but I assure you if you're patient the news will come. I'm on pins and needles like you guys. I was through this before last year and I learned in my first couple weeks at OCS, that it's all about patience and being able to professionally wait as strange as that sounds. Those of us with this NRD should stick it out and help each other out if we do happen to hear anything sooner than the 13th. Lt Smith seems to be a really cool guy and he'll get the job done.

I am surprised NRD Philly hasn't let their people know, it doesn't make them look good.

I've never posted here before but I creep the forums from time to time. I got selected for SNA today out of Michigan, I didn't ask about NFO or SWO since that was my first choice anyways. For people who haven't heard yet and want to compare my stats were:

3.48 GPA for B.S. Biochem
7/7/8 61
passed MEPS with 2 approved waivers for an old broken bone and 10 times marijuana use
LOR from 2 senior professors (one who I worked for) and a boss
21 years old

Congratz to everyone else picked.

Picked up for SNA!

Mechanical Engineering (Rising Senior)
GPA 2.75
ASTB 8/9/8 65
LORs from 1 USAF Lt. Col. (RET) and 1 USAF Lt Col. (RET) / NASA Astronaut (RET)

Still need to go to MEPS. Would appreciate ANY information on what exactly goes on there... I'm not quite sure beyond the fact that it's a close physical. Advice?

More importantly, Congratulations to all selected!

To the non-selects, It took me three years of dealing with Philly NRD, and 3 different recruiters to get to this point. Never give up! ASTB scores were on the second try, Don't be afraid to challenge yourself! Study hard! It will pay off!
