Actually, it wasn't. I didn't know he was an ENS. But I will check profiles before posting. I think thats kind of sad though...but anyways....post on!

Umm... maybe you didn't know, but he is well aware of DI acronyms and any other acronym available for JO-s beginning sea commands He is an ENS getting ready for a shore command, and he is getting ready for a SWO sea command, so maybe treat him with more respect......

its impossible to know every damn acronym. My chief sometimes doesn't even know them. Plus there are multiple acronyms that mean different things for instance:

SWO-Surface Warfare Officer
SWO-Senior Watch Officer
SWO-Skims World Order

Gunny Irwin was the senior class DI at OCS when I was there in '01. One of his classes from a few months earlier had bought him an olde English Bulldog complete with all the slober and what not. He named it Admiral Stockdale. The dog lived with him ove in the House of Pain. If you didn't salute the Admiral, you were toast. When we were getting mashed in the SUYA, the dog thought it was playtime and would lick your face while you were doing 8 count bodybuilders, right after he had licked his balls.

I picked the dog up in way way back woods Alabama. When we were presenting him to Capt Zimmerman in the middle of hi moms the dog took a big dump right in the middle of the presentation while the skipper was holding him in his arms.

Skim- You'll learn other SWO definitions in the fleet. For Example: Slow White Officers. We (JO wardroom) earned this after we challenged a group of enlisted gents to a game of Basketball in the helo hanger one eveing. We nearly held our own though! Then again we thought playing basketball on an FFG experiencing up to 15 degree rolls would give us some kind of advantage. Silly JG's! Ever seen what Non-Skid does to bare knees?

Somehow I missed this thread but I'm glad I found it. Erwin was my DI (14-01). I remember getting to make one of the first phone calls at the end of the first week and telling my wife 2 things. 1. The guy doing all the yelling in the video I watched is my DI and 2. My chief from boot camp (Orlando 1992, Senior Chief Pitts) was my class chief. He made Master Chief while he was pushing our class through. I have been looking for that video for awhile. Nice find.

I believe it's buried somewhere in the forum, although likely labled something entirely different.

Any idea where. I was in AOCS Class 03-91 and the video really brought back memories, but I would really like to see "Pressure Point" again.
