May boards

It's hard to believe results will be out in less than two weeks. I read somewhere about apps being tabled. Does this mean you apply for May but don't make it until June? Or is it when you officially make the month but get pushed back because of app volume?

I've only been on the board fro a little while now, but from what I understand you can either be tabled because your packet isn't complete for some reason OR because of applicant volume like you said.

They just put out a list, according to my OR, of who they will be considering for this month. Have you put in an application revan1986? if so, what are your stats

ASTB could have been better but overall I think I have a fighting chance at getting picked.

My submission

Greetings all,

I put in my package for the May board, and I thought I would throw my stats into the fray and meet some of the people that I might have the honor of working with the in future (hopefully).

26/M
BA French/Economics - 3.9
MA French Studies/Journalism - 3.82
Applied to Intel
Fluent French - former writer for the Council on Foreign Relations
LORs from Professors, former employers
Tests: 59/8/7/8
PRT: good low.

It would be an honor to serve. Good luck to everybody.

I am really praying that I get Pro-Rec'd this month not only because this is the career I want more than anything but because I was laid off today. This is the second job this year, through no fault of my own, that I've lost. Times are rough in Dayton, OH. :(

I'm worried about what the future holds.

Sorry to hear Molly. Hope the boards look on your app favorably!

I'm in the same boat as you are...enrollment is down at our school next year (I teach at private school) and they had to let go a number of teachers for next year. Don't worry too much about it. Matthew 6: 28 - 34

My recruiter just told me I was not on the list for May... grr. Pretty sure my application was in around mid-April too.

I am hesitant to ask my recruiter if I'm in this same boat. I just received the date from my recruiter that I am flying to DC for the Nuke interview ( June 11th) and I'm wondering if this date has any effect on me being in the May boards for SNA/NFO... anyone encounter a similar situation?

I was struggling for a job in Dayton too, now I have three and my schedule is hell. Southwestern Ohio is not the best place for employment right now. Hell, Ohio in general. BUT chin up Wrightmolly. Hopefully we will be recieving good news the next 2-3 weeks that will solve the problem. Just maintain that this is another challenge that will prepare you to persevere at OCS and during your training. Most everybody on here is going thru the same thing. But since we're a bunch of ambitious badasses this is just another hiccup on our march to glory. Now off for a 6 mile run! Hustle!:D

I understand the pain many of you are going through. I was laid off earlier this year too. Just think of your time off as an extended vacation/extra time to prepare for OCS.

Thanks guys. It'll all work out somehow. I'll just have to keep my head up.

i'm in the same boat. i asked my director for a LOR for Navy awhile ago so they knew i was going to go Navy if i got accepted. turns out they needed to let someone go so i was it... i'm glad i worked for almost a year though. i hated being behind a desk and everyday i would sit there and say to myself i'm meant for bigger things blah blah blah...

so now no matter what i'm going through in the military, training, beatings, studying, inspections, anything... i'll be able to say to myself "sack up Russ its either get through this or go back to being a desk junkie"

i think its for the best. you'll be happy it happened down the road when your an officer in the United States Navy and getting to serve your country
