SWO? What is this "SWO" you speak of?
Did you choose to have a later date or is that what they gave you?

This is what they gave me. Pro recéd in May for SWO, and considering that for some people is has taken forever for them to get a final select, I feel pretty happy with October! Of course, I also didnt have any medical waivers, problems with paperwork, ect. to deal with either.

Final Select SNA
I was Pro-Rec'd SNA back in May (couldn't be more excited!). I've finished up with MEPS and I've also done PRT. For one reason or another my background check was canceled. My OR had me go to his office yesterday and sign all the paperwork again to open up another background check. He sent everything Fedex to get it there ASAP. My question is, am I too late to get in the September or October OCS classes? The reason I ask is because the job I am in is a seasonal position and I may want to start looking for something that will take me through the fall. I know there is no definite answer but if my chances of getting into a class this fall are slim, like I said, I may need to find something other than what I'm doing now.

I would plan on being around well into the fall. It seems most guys getting their FS now are going in October, so another month I would plan on November and so on depending on how long your process is drawn out. No one can tell you for sure, but this is the trend I have seen, and it doesn't hurt to plan ahead just in case.

I am in a slightly similar position as you, Bell. I accepted a job offer for a management program at a Fortune 250 company that starts September 16th. My security file was pending for a long time but I heard this week that it was either acknowledged or received so I am hoping the FS comes through soon. If I were you I would keep an open mind and your ear to the ground when it comes to jobs just in case something happens along the way... it's best to call the company before you start and tell them you are reporting for duty than to be broke for months going into OCS.

Anyone have an idea of how long it's been taking from the security file being received to FS? I saw a few guys go as fast as 5 days...

Fleens? You're not Fleens!
I think all the IO Pro-Rec's are still waiting =(
Looking from the boards in other months it takes us about two months longer than every else to get a FS and OCS Date.

Yup, still waiting. And waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and not doing much of anything else lol. Ugh...

Final Select SNA
Unfortunately I'm still waiting on my FS for SNA. Hopefully we will all hear something before the end of July.

ready
I'm still waiting for final select as well (bdcp-iw)

My OR told me about 2 weeks ago that it should be any day (and he is usually fairly accurate) but was going on leave until this past Tuesday.

I haven't heard from him yet, but haven't contacted him, just giving him a few days to catch up on emails and such. If I haven't heard anything by this afternoon I'm gonna shoot an email his way.

My goal is to swear in by the end of this month.

I second that, although I am still waiting for them to close my security file so I can submit for FS.

I had thought that a clearance file need only be open to get FS (for non IO/IW's). My paperwork was in and no one I know has had any calls yet (myself included) about my clearance and I have my FS and OCS date so I don't know if there is any truth to that either.

The good part to everyone is that you were Pro-recd. Sure there will be some bumps trying to get the final select, but it will come. When you receive it, you will know that all the hard work you've put in is 100% worth it. Congrats to all the May Pro Rec's:D
