Looks like he hasn't hit the apex yet. I'll give him props for the trackday though, I want to go to one so bad.

NO scuff marks on those knee pucks...or are you still coming into the turn?
After you start burning through a set of pucks in a single race, it gets much less cool to put a knee down.:D

What all do you have to have for track days ??? full leathers , boots, lights taped up, oil catch can - or is it track by track basis.

It is partially track specific...and partially category specific. They usually have more leniant requirements for beginners to encourage participation.

One of the other big gotchas is the coolant. Gotta be water only or non-glycol.

These guys have a pretty good rep in Tejas...

Mid America Motorplex has weekly track days during the season. I was able to get out there once a week, for $250 you could get a Platinum membership, ride every Wednesday from 0200 to sunset with corner workers, an ambulance, and as much track time you could take!

Like everyone else says, putting your knee down is awesome! That is... until you go through a set of pucks every 3 track days. And let's not talk tires, at least your tires are worn at the edges and not flat down the middle!

I'm actually starting to miss being stationed in Offutt.... <sniff, sniff>

^ Thanks for the input. I still stand by naming my bike, I don't care what you guys say about that.

Jt71582, maybe not naming a bike, but a custom license plate might add some personality. I thought someone might get a kick out of my plate on my 2004 R1:

(Please dont laugh at me)

As long as you didn't vault the berm.:D

I've put plenty of nicks in the pavement at that place. Love it, love the people. My 100+ get off was at Barber.
