On a side note, did anyone see Edwards save during qualifying?

Thanks for the post! I got pre-empted by NASCRAP Channel, uhem.. I mean Speedvision was playing something else here didn't get any highlights and there's not even a race listed on the digital schedule either!:icon_rage

Hopefully they'll broadcast it on Two-Wheeled Tuesday if they're not too busy playing that street racer/stunt/cruiser "stuff".

Yeah... I'm in a hate'n mood.

Thank you for not letting me miss that.

Every MotoGP race (or AMA race, for that matter) is full of amazing feats that clearly illustrate just how much of a totally different level these guys are on. That save, though, is a friggin' lighting strike.

WOW!

Anytime. And for those interested... I just added drag bars to the Rat.

Sorry to bring this one back, just wanted to give you guys a pic. I went riding today in Shady Valley, TN. You can see why I love it so much, it's beautiful up there, and loads of fun! Attached are a picture of me (orange cbr), and some idiot that was up there doing wheelies and trying to drag knee in his jeans .

I can already spot 4 things wrong with the guy on the blue bike. I guess he's all for skin grafts!

I can't count the number of times I've ridden and had an errant rock fly up and hit the visor square in the center - when, without the visor, those rocks would have nailed me in the nose.

Your flight career and the other drivers-

Coming from my personal experience, I would sell the bike and never ride on the steet again. I say that because about two years ago I was run over from behind while on my motorcycle and suffered a severe brain injury. NAMI has grounded me for 30 months and then I will be allowed to submit a waiver. I was flying single-seat attack Harriers but based on the STBI, if they allow me to fly again, it will probably not be single-seat but rather a multi-cockpit platform like the C-130. I loved riding my bike, but it is not worth the chance of encountering the other drivers who just don't pay attention. Outline your priorities and choose wisely.

Thanks Seawiz,

I hope you get well and back in cockpit again. It's stories like this that made me question keeping my bike in the first place. Being in control of my bike is only half of the equation. Is some dude in his SUV behind me going to decide to run me over? Another option is turning my bike into a track-only toy...but how much time will I really have through API/Primary to get out to a track and ride?

The jury is still out on this for me. The selection board will review my package tomorrow and eventually let me know what my future holds. Until then, I'll just have to be really careful.

No, no, no....
Time is not your concern in this case, grasshopper. As anyone who has ever tasted track pavement will tell you, it ain't the time, it's the money. Heroin addicts get off easy compared to those riding the Asphault Dragon.

In the spirit of covering all sides 12 sides of this issue: I spent 18 months hard down (6 of which re-designated to 1300) following a motorcycle accident on the track. The track was "safer" without cagers, but my NA, adrenaline junkie personality probably wasn't. Anyway, after recovery, permanent partial disability, and a waiver, I'm back to 1310, still awaiting the chance to get orders back to the cockpit, and picked up my first Harley while IA to Afghani-land.

And the Road King has been my favorite of all 6 bikes I've owned (450 Knighthawk, GS750E, ZX-6(race), FZR400(race), ZX-636(race), FLHRC).

Seawiz - keep your head up brother, and if I can offer any help navigating the BuMed/NOMI/NPC Fortress of Ineptitude, don't hesitate to ask - Lord knows I couldn't find anyone who knew anything when I needed it.

I know what you mean!!

I used to ride with an open face helmet on my cruiser until I caught a small rock to the face.. Luckily no damage, but really made me realize how dangerous it was.

JT,

I am in somewhat of the same boat. I have a 2001 GSXR 750 that I love and ride daily, but I think I am ready for a new one. Its not really worth it for me to bring it from CA when I can sell it and treat myself to a younger, fresher one. I am up for the May board and will hopefully class up in August. If we both select im sure we will be in RI/P Cola at the same time. If you dont sell it we will definitely have to get out and ride. Whether it is flat and strait or a set of twisties, it will beat the CA traffic that I have to split. The bob and weave is about the best I get to twisties actually. No time to ride for fun with school and work. Ride safe (Everyone!!) and good luck on your board today!
