Motorcycle - To Sell Or Not To Sell: I Need Some Advice

I sold my 01 GSXR 750. I miss it, especially since I only have the truck to drive now. I was riding rain or shine every day. I just love to ride. Especially in a city where I go to school and work downtown, I didnt have to fight traffic and I could park anywhere for free. But I cant take it to OCS, and I am ready for something new.

I will be getting a new one for myself a an OCS graduation gift. I dont care if the roads are strait and flat, thats just means a higher avg MPH. And of course perfect weather year round. While I would consider a cruiser/chopper, (like a VROD) I want another gixxer. The best and most comfortable bike Ive ever ridden. And I love the speed. - I wont be happy unless Im doing mach three with my hair on fire...ha ha. But it doesnt really matter. anyone who rides knows the freedom of two wheels. Damn I miss it.

Yeah, that makes sense. My back and arms get soar during long rides so I know what you mean. A cruiser would be much more comfortable.

Wait, they let women ride bikes these days?

Next thing you know they're going to be voting... :D

Screw HD.

Buy a Triumph!

Seconded. I just got a 2008 Thruxton the other day. :D Its my first bike so i dont have anything to compare it too but i have to say.... it is quite awsome.

Had to go up to San Antonio to get it though... but i think there are dealerships in P-Cola since thats where you are going to be at first.

not that i dislike HD, i just dont like paying a few thousand for a name.

Indeed. Not only that, but they keep hitting you with it too - accessories and HD servicing is outrageously priced. Plus, I hate the "holier than thou" attitude I get from most of the people who ride them. I'd rather go against the grain a little bit, ride something that people don't see 8 times a day.

NAFOD, if you need to borrow the factory manual for any crap or have any questions, stop by the PUMA or RDO shack. They are easy to do your own maintenance on. The 600 mile oil change is definitely needed though. They put a mineral break-in oil in them at the factory, and with the heat down here, you will want synthetic in there once the break in is over.

Don't sell. I just bought my first bike after putting it off since high school... I should've done this YEARS ago. I have no intention of ever racing it on a track, and for the time being I probably look like a 75 year old lady going around some turns, but it's still one of the best feelings in the world!

I'm done with college and out of the mountains, which equals no more twisties except at a track, and I won't have time or money in flight school to do that. Rockets are pointless on long straight roads. I ride sportbikes the way they are meant to be ridden, and I can't stand riding my CBR for long distanceson long, flat, boring roads. Cruiser would be a different story, a bit more practical.

If you're trading out your CBR for comfort and practicality, you don't have to go all the way over to the cruiser side. What about a standard or naked bike? Great gas mileage, still comfy on long rides, and plenty of fun when you need them.

Maybe something like a kawasaki ZRX, or a Suzuki SV/bandit, or Ducati monster.

I'm thinking about a Supermoto for my next bike.

Yeah Tyler is right, have you ever ridden on an SV 650? They are pretty comfortable, nice bikes. (Don't go to the dark side!! :) )
