A fun historical photo that we recently discovered in our archives here at GE - a 1943 photograph of a M1 being tested for bore/sight alignment with a GE device made for the task - my guess is this picture was taken at Springfield Armory.

I love this gun! Winging present. Shoots beautifully, the short reset trigger is real nice. My family (wife's side) pitched in and got it for me. I don't think I would have bought this for the price if it was my money, but now that I have it I'll enjoy it. You can definitely get similar quality pistols for about $500 less IMHO.

Anyone know a good gunsmith in the NCR? I have a M1 .30 carbine I need repaired. Rounds don't feed from the magazine into the chamber. Probably hasn't been fired since 1945.

Don't know what the NCR is, but a good bet is to send it to the CMP in Anniston.

Careful, according to California, that magazine can only be used for killing people. Murderer!

Theoretically, that mag could actually be legal in CA. I think CA would be much more upset by the Assassin's Tool on the front.

Cali just went to plaid today. They retroactively banned >10-rounders, took away the bullet button, added even more crap to their AWB . . . the whole 9 yards. Naturally someone in the process said standard-cap mags over 10 rounds were "only for killing large numbers of people" or words to that effect.

One more straw in the haystack of reasons I refuse to ever live there.

Don't forget that you also won't be able to buy ammo without a special license and background check in CA pretty soon. And no more online ammo buying- not sure when that little gem kicks in.

If it wasn't for the Navy, I wouldn't live in this ridiculous state. A bunch of unenforceable reactive measures that do absolutely nothing to make anyone "safer".
