Recently, the BD-5J has operated in the national security arena. The aircraft is certified by the United States Department of Defense as a cruise missile surrogate, with Bishop's Aerial Productions offering a version known as the Smart-1 (Small Manned Aerial Radar Target, Model 1).[35] The radar return and general performance characteristics make it a useful aid in training.
No need to accidently shoot it down. It will be recorded as an exercise loss on its own with no help from an errant missile or gun round.
Uh...you don’t always have to shoot live ordnance at the target, and in the supersonic target world, none are recoverable, so it’s a loss whether you shoot them or not.
Holy cow. Unless the target version is way faster, that’s pretty slow to simulate a missile. I can get better results from a BQM.
OK, so they aren't "my" guns. And, well, I am not going out shooting them any time soon. But I am very proud. I was the Project Coordinator on the restoration of a Vietnam combat veteran UH-1B Gunship. Came out super nice. Probably one of the best in the country. It is armed with twin LAU 60 19 shot 2.75" FFR pods, Mk75 40mm grenade launcher in a nose turret (very rare), a M2 in one door and a M60 on a bungee in the other door. We even have the sights for the rockets and grenade launcher, also very rare.
The M2 is obviously not on the proper mount. That is a temporary since we haven't located one yet. The M60 on the bungee is actually a $450 replica metal airsoft gun. It looks very accurate, even has a belt of about 8 real rounds. Our guys that crewed Huey Gunships and put a lot of rounds through M60s say they can hardly tell the deference. Seeing it in a parade or even in the museum from 6 or 8 feet away only real experts can tell it isn't real. Note belt in bottom photo near the butt of the M60. That is the ammo belt that supplies 40mm grenades to the nose turret. It runs along the floor and in to the pedestal near the co-pilot's knee.

Correct. The closed-tine SOCOMs weren't out yet when I got that upper.
It's a Larue handstop. I dig 'em and still work well as a barricade stop when needed.

He is a watch guy and @mad dog and I have talked with him about Speedy's. I have often floated the idea of an AW discount or free eval samples. But not gotten traction on such

I'm an EOTech fan but I'm going to guess that the President is about out of the "giving people money back" mood for the duration. They bought back thousands of sights over the last few years over cold weather concerns about the sights zero drifting etc. I never had a minuites trouble with mine though and love the reticle.
Sometimes the price is worth the splurge. I've heard those LMT 7.62 rifles are really nice and a bit cheaper than the SR-25.
I'm not going to lie, the upper in my picture was waaaaaay more than I needed to spend, but it's a cool piece of history and is fun to shoot. It's also much nicer to shoot at a match when it's raining since it doesn't blow water back at me like a DI gun does.

Usually I don't think much about the cost if I really want a certain weapon but since I knew I wouldn't be shooting it much for once I did the adult thing. I bought a complete 7.62 rifle from Aero. Fit and finish is great and it gets good reviews at half the price of the LMT. (haven't even shot it yet)
I had some early piston uppers that worked ok but they were nothing like that gem you have.......
