I basically asked for “727”. A fellow recruit in our Cincinnati Police Academy Class was initially assigned “727”...when I saw the postings of the badge numbers during the academy, I noticed “727” and thought that would be a cool badge number to have since I had been furloughed from Delta and was on the B727 as a new hire Second Officer [flight engineer]. I asked my classmate if he wanted to swap badge numbers [I explained to him the significance of “727”] and he said no problem. I ran the paperwork [with explanation] up the COC which went all the way to the Cincinnati Chief of Police...and it was gladly approved...the brass thought that it was pretty cool that my future badge number would be my old bird at Delta.I might have asked this before, did you ask for " 727 " or was it the luck of the draw?

That actually says KS, for Kansas, we did have 1 K9 officer, dog had a great name "Kujo"Cool beans!
