OCS 08APR2024 SNA/SNFO BOARD

Why did they deny it? My first “appeal” was denied just because they didn’t like the way she documented my results. Went to another doctor, had him write exactly what I found based on the Aeromedical Reference Waiver Guide and it was approved.
Disregard, just saw your post on the depth perception mega thread. That is interesting, and I'm really sorry to hear. I'm sure my story is one of the examples you read previously.

Are you DQ'd just from SNA? What about SNFO? I know a guy in my OCS class whose eyes DQ'd him from SNA but redesigned to SNFO
Yup, still qualified for SNFO. Despite NFO being an awesome career field, I would prefer to continue working on the pilot side of things for now.

I have a question regarding the board excel sheets. I've been digging through them since November and just put in my own info for the upcoming April board, but even looking at the past 3-4 SNA/SNFO board results I still have one question. Why do individuals on there with otherwise 'perfect' GPA and 9/9/9 ratings get denied? I understand the board is looking at an individual holistically so there is no way to know why they got rejected for sure. But a good handful of these people are saying they have near perfect scores, no medical issues, yet the only thing I can guess is they botched their motivational statement so bad the Navy didn't want them? Genuinely want to know if either these people are lying about their scores or I'm missing something given the new immediate-select policy it seems they should have no problem getting accepted with that data?

Does anyone know how immediate select works? Does it just mean your application is considered before the stated board convene date, or does it mean that you're truly "immediately selected?" I've got a 58 8/8/8 and a 3.9 GPA, no non-medical waivers, and just waiting on a medical waiver to come through. Thanks y'all
After reading PA-106 it says applicants "must meet all of the following criteria" with bullet 1 stating "Not require waiver or exception to policies". I'm by no means an expert but perhaps your medical waiver means you won't be consider for immediate selection? Although with your scores and GPA I have no doubt they'd pick you up at the normal board anyhow.

Could be because of lots of debt in collection, big history of drug use, criminal record, etc.

Hello, in case anyone was wondering what the timeline was like when applying for immediate selection, I submitted my full application on Wednesday, 1/31/24, and just was told I was selected today, 2/6/24. So, a week between application to hearing about selection. Just in case anyone else on here was applying for the immediate selection.

Congrats on the selection! Did you have to submit a full package like a normal board or did they only want: meps, gpa, and astb?

Thank you guys!

I have not been given my class date as of yet. Only got a text from my recruiter that I had been selected. Sounds like he is working on paperwork to get my contract ready and my class date.

I did submit a full application, so LOR's, motivational statement, transcripts etc. I did apply previously and got rejected, so I had a lot of the paperwork already filled out, all I needed was a new motivational statement and one new LOR. Besides that, it was mostly updating dates on forms. Took about two weeks from when I took the ASTB to get my application submitted.

Congrats!

Interesting, I submitted before that and still haven’t heard back. As of noonish today my recruiter said he still hasn’t heard back from NRC. Any chance your results came in later in the day?

Damn man, I'm jealous lmao. Congrats!

I seem to be in a similar spot to where you were before. If I don't get picked up, I'll try to follow your path
