OCS AMDO BOARD 14-Feb-25

Not necessarily, some designators such as SWO, SNA and SNFO really don't care where they are in the priority list while others such as Supply, IWC, AMDO and other smaller designators do care, enough that often those put anything less than #1 have an uphill battle being selected.
Ok so partially correct, depending on designation. Definitely applies here if you’re looking for selection in a non-aviation category.

Just as long as a person puts AMDO #1
I’ve always wondered how this works with the board cycles.

If I submit for the Feb24 AMDO board with AMDO #1, SNA #2 and say, supply #3, would that same application get rolled to the next SNA and supply board?

Typically what happens is it would be sent to all 3 boards, now if there is a large time gap between the boards say between AMDO and SNA then it is possible you could get selected for AMDO and your application wouldn't be seen by the SNA board.

Odds are if you put Supply #3 you won't get selected, they often only pick those who put Supply #1, they have also historically been not too favorable on those with waivers if you have any.

Just got word from a LCDR at my current command he received an email this morning that the AMDO board is being pushed left to January and the deadline is going to be 15DEC24.

I am currently a AME1. Made first in a little under 5 years. Currently at 6, looking for all insight for building my package for the next AMDO board coming up. I recently graduated (GPA 3.6- BA- Legal Studies) and took my OAR (Score 49) and meet all the requirements and require no waivers. I appreciate all the help I can get!
Hope you seen my latest message and get to finishing up that package since the deadline looks like it’s gonna be sooner than January.

Curious, I put in my package for Suppo and AMDO. Supply for the 04NOV board, if the AMDO board is shifted to January like my LCDR claims, then do you think I’ll be denied for Suppo and pushes to the AMDO board since the boards will be like two months apart. I placed AMDO first and Suppo second.

No, you should be seen by both.

Yeah but I mean like do you think it’s likely that supply would give me “N” since I wanted AMDO first and the boards are so close to each other? Also, if I do get selected for Suppo how long would I have to accept or deny? Given that the AMDO board is two months from the Suppo board I would like to see my results from both.

Do you meet supply immediate selection criteria? If so that could help you. Generally they will wait for a decision on your first choice.

I meet everything except TIS. I just hit 10 years TIS, waiver was approved so it’s waiting at board but outside of that everything else is good to go. 3.9 GPA, BA in Business, 60 OAR, 2 LORs O6 and O4. Last 3 evals EP with OCS recommendations. All of my TIS is working aviation. AMDO waiver still waiting for approval. I know they rubber stamp but I’m hoping my package is competitive enough to overlook the TIS.

I would typically ask my NC but there isn’t much help coming out mine. She’s clueless about OCS programs.
Your command should have an officer designated to help with commissioning programs. I found that my NC was absolutely braindead when it came to OCS but my AMO knew everything there was to know.

I have LT that tries to help out where he can but he doesn’t know all the answers either.

Finding a prior-enlisted is probably the best chance you have. Are your AMO, MMCO, MCO, etc, etc (or just plain DIVO's on AIMD) not priors? Especially for AMDO applications.
