I'm pretty envious. All of my combat hours were spent on the road :-( By chance were you in Iraq at COB Adder/Talil? I drove by those P3s all the time there when we were dropping off MRAPs.

When you ultimately make it to the decision point, do you want to stick with the P3s if you can?

I looked at a lot of roads...

I actually got out of the Navy less than a year before P-3s began flying in/out of Iraq... We typically flew into Iraq from another base in another counrty then flew back out after the mission was completed. I would love to go back to them... Heck of a job (difficult at times from what I've seen), fantastic places to go, and a great group of men/women serving beside you...

I've heard a lot of great things about the P-3 community...not to mention that the P-8 is scheduled to come in to service soon. That would be a blast to be on, probably more comfortable too.

Really? If you don't mind me asking, what types of issues would disallow you from being reviewed by the board?

I had two bills that went to collections (one for 14 dollars, and 70 dollars). Apparently I had to explain them twice, instead of once on the SF86.

Prob not.. Kinda lost my motivation. I mean Yea I had some negatives but nothing other's didn't have... The only thing I can do different is some more volunteer work.. But maybe I'll pursue the FBI which was my backup plan. Yea, I really wanted pilot but I don't have the energy to go through this shit again. I put a lot of work in this package I had above average ASTB scores.. studied my ass off for that test.. Worked my ass off for a high gpa, had a good amount of leadership positions.. Not much more I can do. It was a ride at that.. but it's time to get off and venture a new plan...

Eagle, I don't want to discourage you from the FBI, but that's just as competitive. My old platoon sergeant went to the FBI. It's a very involved process as well. Whatever you do, don't get discouraged by failure. Life is full of failures and fuck ups . . . lord knows I've had my share. Just keep your chin up and be persistent.

Dude not for nothing but what negatives in your package are you talking about? You HAVE a really strong package. Set up an interview, write a reconsideration letter and re-submit in April. That doesn't take all that much energy...

I agree, your package seems pretty strong to me. I probably would have been non-select if I got submitted. My ASTB scores were almost identical to yours...

Mine were pretty identical to his and I was selected... His GPA is better than mine... There has to be something else... Maybe my LOR's did it... Maybe it was my motivational statement... Who knows... I do know that he has a strong package and thus should try again!
