Greetings all! I have been going through the process of commissioning since early July and just completed my packet. My OR says it is in and will be ready for the next board. Discovering this website has been really helpful in what to expect in the coming weeks, especially timeframes. Judging by some of the posts in this and other threads here that looks like after Oct for a board. Here's to the wait. Good luck everyone!
Hey,
Been lurking on here since May and was finally able to register. Got my packet submitted the week after June board so I'm here to wait with y'all. Here's to hoping the board convenes October 1.
Welcome!

It seems like we are starting to rack up quite a bit of applicants waiting on the October board.
Yep, and it appears that it seems like there are a lot of people who this is their first time through this rodeo. Buckle up, it's going to be quite a ride.

Anyone up to starting an excel sheet? I've seen past threads have done this just so you know how many air warrior members we have applying along with stats etc....

I was a participant in that spreadsheet back in May, but the reality is that thing is useless. It usually comes down to much more than GPA and ASTB scores as to how competitive a candidate is. Not even counting how wildly the board selection rate has swung from one board to the next. I mean I'm not opposed to it, but I wouldn't put forth the effort to create it. As well as the spreadsheet became a source of anxiety for a lot of people during prior boards (as if it needs to be made any worse).

I agree!! My anxiety is already at an all time high....... I probably shouldn't have downloaded a damn app for my phone that has a countdown either....butttttt...I did! FML.

Now you are just asking for it. Ha. I have a general week-by-week of where I need to be at for the next three months or so. But I know for me that would just me more insane having a countdown. That said, I have started planning passing my duties at work onto someone else, or at least capturing what I do in a document so that I don't hurt my company/replacement.

Well I'm studying this interesting event that is ongoing, BGP route tables saturating and causing routing issue across the web. Paging Comp Sci background applicants...

Besides that, studying the gouge packet given by your processor/OR. Oh and hanging out with local friends, and enjoying the time I have left before leaving and coming back who knows when.

At least I have the IDC board to look forward to that's supposed to convene on 15SEP but if it turns out like the last one, we will probably have the aviation results before we get the ones for IDC.

Just something that I've been tossing around in my head. I wonder if recruiters such as @NavyOffRec, @RUFiO181, and winged members like @BusyBee604 among others, see our anxiety as applicants and think "this is just the beginning..." Heh
Actually, it's not really anxiety (a mental state), but a healthy anticipation/impatience to continue on to the next step in pursuit of a worthy goal. I'm sure most every OCS applicant goes through that, I surely did.;)

Anxiety is a different animal. That's when on a dark & stormy night in mid-Pacific, no 'bingo' field... you turn downwind after your 3rd pitching deck bolter, fuel only for one more pass, and no tanker available... that's anxiety!

By that time, the Navy will have trained you so well, that it will just be only one of many interesting stories to wow your Grandkids.:D
