I’ll defend N3M (now known as N33 by the way) - which I barely do.
What has been happening is either active duty /prior enlisted applicants completing commissioning physics and not declaring anything, only to open a can of worms once they get to OCS. Once they opened up their MRRS record, they would find disqualifying conditions that should have been declared in the first place. This is where 5 years of records and any other major surgery kicks in.
The current doc is a stickler to the rules and for applicants to be upfront with everything - otherwise she will have you get everything. Multiply your son’s circumstance/record by about 200-300 similar applicants applying nationwide. Additionally, with about a staff of maybe half a dozen, it could take weeks to have a record reviewed.
