ACORN is a red herring...they are accused of voter registration fraud not voter fraud and there have been few cases of voter fraud. They get poor people to canvass for registration, the people turn in a small percentage of bad cards (which hurts ACORN as their are actually fewer people registered than their goals), ACORN flags them and turns them in (as required by many states...wouldn't want to throw out registrations) and the forms aren't used. That is much different than a guy showing up with a fake ID and voting as "Mickey Mantle" on Nov 4th.

The real issue is the pernicious denying of the right to vote to people through voter suppression, not some homeless guy filling out a form with Dan Marino's name on it.

One of our Reserve O-5's worked for Clark as well. The horror stories are interesting, which from what I hear isn't exclusive to just one individual. Not the type of guy you would want on your resume I'm told.

Why not, should we avoid risk at all times now? Force protection rules over all? It was a means to an end, and he takes responsibility for it.

If you are not sure, why even mention it?

General Zinni was one of the very few military leaders, current or former, who knew exactly what we were getting into when we invaded Iraq and made his views clear before and after the invasion.

The poll A4's posted is probably the biggest "duh" I have seen in a while. In fact, I was a bit surprised McCain's numbers weren't a bit higher among military voters.

Reasons? I'll list a few:

1. McCain's military background:
a. As a Naval Officer/Aviator
b. As an Academy grad
c. As a P.O.W.
2. Military personnel has typically voted conservative

So now the burning question: which poll choice did I choose?

I, for one voted undecided because I seriously do not know who I am going to vote for in a couple of weeks. The fact that McCain is a Naval Officer/Aviator doesn't help or hurt my decision any bit. I could care less what McCain's career was, my biggest two factors are how they stand on the issues and their personality.

How is this candidate as a public speaker? Is this candidate someone I can relate to? What will this candidate do for me as a middle-class American?

Will this candidate be the Commander-In-Chief I am proud to say I serve for?

What will this candidate do to improve the disastrous economy? How much of a tax break will I receive annually? Will I pay new/more taxes under this administration?

Now everyone is probably thinking that I am a bleeding-heart college Democrat who wears tye-dye shirts or whatever. For one, I consider myself a "California Republican", meaning while I typically vote conservative, I too have no hesitation to vote democrat if I feel that candidate has earned my vote. Party lines mean nothing to me.

These two weeks will be some of the most difficult weeks. Whomever is elected will be my Commander-in-Chief for the next four years.

Also, I think its interesting that many military Obama endorsers has been bashed, yet McCain's are praised. Just my opinion...

Congress controls the money. The President cannot control the economy. It is cyclical. The mess we are in now would have happened regardless of who is on the White House

There is absolutely no way to tell. We'll just have to wait and see which campaign promises are kept and which ones are broken.
