Well, I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet but I have a question for some senior members especially those who are NFOs. I am in week 5 of API. End of week 4, they did our average and my weighted average came out to be 92.2...which is a 41.8 NSS. I needed to have a 42.5 to stay in the pilot pipeline. Yes I'm quite frustrated but I guess there isn't much I can do right now. I was told that I can put in a package for NFO and I will get picked up most definitely. However, I'm not too sure that's something I want to do. Here's my question: Even if I do agree and get picked up by the NFO school here, what are my chances of switching to Pilot later on????No, I'm not trying to be whinny but if I knew about this 2 years ago, I would've stayed in AFROTC and not put in for Navy. I probably wouldn't have gone through OCS if I knew that Navy was going to do a little switcharoo just because I don't have a 93 average. What sucks more is that I know some FY05 guys who have way lower average then mine and they are being sent to Corpus and Whiting.
So anyway, what are the chances of switching from NFO to Pilot and do I have to wait until after I get winged and do my first sea tour????Another question, if I choose not to go NFO and get out of the Navy, Is there any way I can submit a pilot package with the Marines or the Air Force. After all, I didn't fail out of API.
Oh yeah, for those FY04 guys who haven't classed up yet...here were my grades so you guys should try to do way better then me I guess. 96 (aero), 92 (Weather), 86 (Aero II), 96 (Engines), 88 (Nav), 100 (FRR).
