before i went to OCS I got the chance to talk to a Lt. Col that flies f-18. I asked him about civilian flight time and a bunch of other crap. He went in with his privates and IFR rating, thats about it. He also said that they didn't really help him at all in flight school because people with no prior flight time are that determined. It doesn't matter what you have going in. The kicker is how you use what they teach you.
His exact words. "The Marine Corps is going to teach you to fly how the Marine Corps wants you to fly"
I think this applies to every aspect of OCS, TBS, API, MOS school, ect... whatever you walk in with will help you a little, its how you use what you are taught that counts...
