It’s the Air Force version of AirWarriors. That brings up another question, is your Speedo buddy, @ChuckMK23, on BaseOps?
Copy all…good info, sir. So…since the Air Force handed me a big fat “NO” regarding an OTS pilot slot back in 1986, and the Air Force Reserve handed me a big fat “NO” regarding an H-60 pilot slot at Patrick AFB in the early 2000’s, I guess I won’t be going over to that BaseOps place. I’m not sure if @ChuckMK23 is over at that BaseOps place…I’ll ask him. I guess it would make sense that he’d be over there since he’s currently a GS working for the Air Force.

That place is too nerdy even for me. I actually like being the the slightly irreverent and only Navy /gold-winger at work. Pretty much every one of my GS peers are retired O-5 C-130 types. (A couple of fighter guys and a few that spent their whole career flying T-37/38/T-6)

I'm not retiring for quite a while, but my #1 requirement for any potential work group is quick-witted ball-busting. I just don't see how 40 h/wk is fun otherwise.

Kudos to @jmcquate for giving me the nudge. Latest F-51D Korean War era project is almost complete. Having the right tools makes all the difference. The Japanese market consumables - masking tape, cotton swabs, thinners, cements - are cheap and superior. Makes modeling all the more enjoyable and less frustrating.

Same here. Post Navy I went into federal law enforcement. During one professional development course, the instructor expressed concern not only at what we said to each other, but at the fact that we were all carrying guns.

Most of my peers had pretty tough skins, but we took care and kept the ball-busting light around those who weren’t good at defending themselves. Over 22 years, I can’t remember many days that I didn’t have a good belly laugh.

Is your turn & bank, and artificial horizon on the same page?
Yes - there is a "ball" at the bottom of screenas well as a magenta line that expands left or right that is the "turn needle" - with a hash mark to show 1/2 SRT or full SRT - common symbology on many PFDs

Nice video of the load out of an A-10 driver - articulate and squared away young lady. Also the details of EFB use, issued three finger gloves, O2 mask configuration and technically advanced seat harness reinforces how AF takes a superior approach to personal flight equipment. Reinforces comments of @HuggyU2 on the subject.

In process of regaining currency after some time away. I might be off but I don’t think what we have in the 60S with helmet mounted cueing and other gear is too much different. Feel like vest and gloves are good. Only area where this video is ahead of us is e-pubs. Doesn‘t help that NAVAIR marked the latest release CUI, complicating loading onto a personal device.
