Why does this man wear his wings below the cheesy "Information Dominance Warrior" designation pin.

What *male* Naval Aviator would ever allow himself the professional CASTRATION of putting his wings below another cheesy pin.

Crazy train.

Because he is following the uniform rules, that is why. Like 'em or not, those are the rules.

And just what the hell does him being a male have anything to do with it?

Because I could never imagine Jim Stockdale or Bull Halsey ever doing that - yes a modern female officer who is a stickler for rules - sure. Tradition my friend :)

Put it this way - even if it meant deviating from the uniform rules, wouldn't we all always wear our wings above any other warfare designator ? (potential exception being the Budweiser).

It's why we wear brown shoes, it's why we stick it to black shoes at every opportunity - reminding them that indeed we are special :)

How about every aviator I know that has become an Intel/IW officer, male and female? I know plenty of them and all of them follow the rules and I certainly would expect the head of the community to do so as well, clearance or not. I am not the biggest fan of the IDC/IWC pin but uniform rules are uniform rules and you can expect your sailors to notice if you don't follow them, just like we notice if a senior aviator wears his leather jacket instead of the SDB jacket (unauthorized).

(b) Two warfare insignia are authorized following these rules:

1 The warfare insignia of the specialty in which currently serving will be worn in the primary position.

So yeah, even a 'Budweiser' goes below another warfare insignia if that is what you are doing now.

this guy got his security clearance pulled for taking bribes (they call it inappropriate gifts)..I think he is going to be replaced soon ..if not already, as they would not reinstate his clearance........this cyberwarfare stuff must be hot shit, as its only been around a few years....and they already got a badge....my guess: .the insignia is on top because that is is current assignment....I think!!...., if he was back in the RAG, maybe the wings would be on top!....but that aint gonna happen...

Yep, I'm guilty of this (if "guilty" is even the right word here). I will always wear my leather flight jacket in lieu of the SDB jacket when possible.

I don't even understand this statement……..are you guys talking about wearing SDB's with everything but the coat, which you replace with a leather jacket? I've never in my life seen anyone do that.

Yes, many senior folks who have to wear SDB's more often than the rest of us are often fond of this combo especially in places with higher staff ratios and colder weather like DC and Norfolk.

Leather jacket with SDBs? I've seen it done plenty of times, by plenty of folks, including skippers and admirals.

So they wear the white, button-down shirt, the tie, and the leather jacket over that? I've never seen it, but I'm sticking in my back pocket for potential future use...
