There are so many better questions than that. But it's also unfair to compare the USN to AFSOC.Mildly off topic but it looks like AFSOC is about to steal another job that traditionally belonged to the navy.

Yes…but it is sooooo easy and no one cares when I do it!
Increased cost and complexity for marginal (negligible?) utility? I’m really curious to see what the cargo vs fuel payload works out to be for their CONOPs, and what the sea state limitations would be.
On another note, who would’ve thought we’d see PBYs resurrected before the S-3?

Flying boats played a big role in WWII naval battles. So, why aren't those cool vessels still serving in the United States military today?
