yea definitely let me know when you get your extension. I first had a Jan 18th OCS date but I got a month extension as well. it seemed like a simple process, you just write a letter requesting an extension (don't have to get into detail why) and they will give you a date. You can be specific on whether you want couple weeks or a month. It'd be nice to know someone in the same class so keep me posted, maybe we can even arrange the drive together haha.

Just got word today from my recruiter that they have scheduled me for a Feb. 16th start date. I still don't have my final select letter but he told me my date is there. I'm coming from Oshkosh. Did you guys know your start date before you got your letter? I thought giving me a date would be the last thing. In any case I hope it sticks and I get to see Ken, Shotcalla, and the rest of you in the wonderfulness that is the Northeast in February!

God, another Feb 16th class member? Oh well, me and Wolfson will party it up.

I got my date before the letter. I think the letter just needs to be signed off and can sit at a desk for awhile. The only thing that changed for me was my swearing in date was moved a week back since the letter hadn't arrived at my recruiters office when it was supposed to.

Wanna hear something funny, I got my 2nd final select letter today haha! I have no idea why they sent me two, but they did. They came about 10 days apart. (identical, same dates and designators and everything else).

Did your recruiter write the letter requesting the extension, or you didn't even talk to your recruiter and sent the letter directly to OCS?

My processor at the recruiter's office told me to write a letter, sign it and fax it to him, and then he took care of the rest. so no, you don't send it to OCS directly. talk to you recruiter first and he should tell you what to do.

Badger, nice to have a fellow SNFO in the same class. Ignorant cali boy question, where is oshkosh? nvm that, i'll look it up sir! :D

For me the W is a two fold meaning...Woman and Whiskey. But I am from Oshkosh,WI...not Oshkosh, Nebraska.

my crazy roommate from the dorms my first year at Berkeley was from wisconsin. he was seriously those columbine types, i was scared for my life. he used to speak to his parents on the phone EVERY night in German and occassionally my other roommate and I used to hear him speak in German and randomly throw out the word "roommates" here and there and realized that he was talking shit about us on the phone. He was such a weird guy... he had a morris code transmitter and a radio that he built himself too. Random story but it was the first thing that popped in my head with "wisconsin."
