Ride out your eight, serve honorably to the best of your ability. There is honestly not much better than being an aviator JO/Company grade.

Then get out and do something that won't suck your soul and leave you wishing for the days before you got promoted.

I would only add that "the eight" is a done deal…so what phrogdriver said in that regard is absolutely true.

I would also add that you might want to keep your eyes open and see if you're interested in doing more. Part 2 may not be your preferred option when the time comes. Or it may be. But you're just not there yet. Things change.
