Do Marine Aviators wear brown shoes?
What...the "Rocket 17" was closed that night?!?!? :icon_wink
The place was dead. Bowling alley was only place open by time we got to the Q. Only time I saw it breath life was during FCLP/CQ Det there in early 80s and during a week long stay in 88, but only for lunch.
Ahhhh...now that's the Cecil we all know and love(d). You really had to get off base for any fun. The liberty "Battle Rhythm" back in the 80s was Thursday night at the Best Western Spindrifter ("Officer and a Gentleman" night: Ladies drank free. What a hookup place that was...) and Friday night at Bennigan's in Orange Park.

Cross country flying for SNAs. Is this basically you tell them where in the U.S. you want to fly to and they let you fly there? Can this be used to, say, visit friends and family?
There will also be some squadron and wing SOPs that you will have to comply with when you plan a cross country. It also depends on how many x's you have to knock out. For example, I had 9 x's to burn in Primary.....so we cross countried to Denver!
You can work a cross country to visit family and stuff, just remember the whole thing is pretty fluid. They can get canceled easily or you may have to change your destination for weather. Just don't plan on a cross country getting you to some really important family event (i.e. wedding), it's not a good idea.

Is the Navy hurting for any particular brand of officer? IE NFO, Supply, etc.
Thanks.
No.Do Marine Aviators wear brown shoes?
Clearly speaking about a young Naval Officer, looking at a Marine in Dress Blues asking "Will I ever get to wear a uniform that looks that good?"In their fantasies.
Those are the current issue flight boots. It's a separate issue. In our service uniforms, we do not wear brown shoes. We wear whatever is current issue when it comes to flight boots.I've seen Marine IPs in brown boots.
Disagree? Three words - Service Dress Bozo. I'll win every time with that gem of a uniform.
