Report in civvies!I feel like I'll probably get this answer when I get my orders, but do AD enlisted applicants report to OCS in the seasonal dress uniform?

You can bring whatever uniform items you want. Your class team will go over your stuff and make sure they are within regulations. You do not need to keep original packaging.Did anyone who graduated recently bring boots to OCS? And if yes did you have to bring them in their original box?

I can’t guarantee you’ll be given access to your lucky bag, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you asked to keep the book for during holiday stand down and they let you. Will you be in INDOC phase during stand down?Really dumb question here but my searching didn’t turn anything up:
For those who will be at OCS on holiday stand down, is it acceptable to bring a fun novel to read during liberty? I assume it would need to be kept in lucky bag until stand down, but given that liberty room has movies I figure I may as well ask.
I had books I read throughout all of OCS and just kept them secured away from room inspections while I wasn't in the room.Really dumb question here but my searching didn’t turn anything up:

Just exiting indoc, I think.I can’t guarantee you’ll be given access to your lucky bag, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you asked to keep the book for during holiday stand down and they let you. Will you be in INDOC phase during stand down?
Ask to keep them in your locked drawer or your 2 drawers and you should be fine. Don’t display them since they’re not issued books/religious texts and can be a room hit during inspections. You’ll be good.Just exiting indoc, I think.
Yes, literally happened to me and some buddies last year. You'll probably get them next week.Is it normal to be medically cleared and sign the commissioning docs and STILL not have orders even though you graduate in a day?
Yea you’ll just be in TMG for a little bit until you get them. Shouldn’t take long if it’s only orders you’re waiting on. Definitely check your NSIPS and see if there’s anything there. That’ll be something that could tell you before they get the chance to tell you.Is it normal to be medically cleared and sign the commissioning docs and STILL not have orders even though you graduate in a day?
Yep. Only thing I’m waiting on. It was frustrating seeing people who aren’t medically cleared get orders they couldn’t execute and a couple of us who were medically cleared Day 1 like myself graduate without orders. I get this is part of it but just seemed to boil down to incompetence on Millington’s part and more frustrating there was just no reason given on why we didn’t have them yet.Yea you’ll just be in TMG for a little bit until you get them. It’s just what happens sometimes. It sucks but at least you’re not waiting on a waiver that may or may not determine whether you accept the commission or not, like some flight officers do.Yep. True. I finally just called the detailer on Monday and asked and they said they’d have them ready to go by tomorrow. So we’ll see. It’s just what happens sometimes.
