Generally good advice throughout OCS.but whatever you do, don't be last.

It's actually very easy to gain weight after about midway through the training. Most DIs tend to lay off the beatings around that time, and chow is all-you-can-eat.2. Do any candidate officers ever gain weight at OCS? So far all I've heard is about people losing weight. I'm 5'9" 140 and am trying to gain some muscle mass before going. Do candidates ever end up bulking up a bit at OCS if they're on the thin-side coming in?

I am pretty certain I saw something on the OCS website saying candidates do not have access to the networks with thier own computers. There are computers provided with internet access when needed. Hopefully someone who has been can confirm, but this is what the website indicates.
I know people stash their laptop, cell phone, iPod, etc until they get the privileges as a candi-o, but why bring something that is useless/valuable to sit in a car if that's the case?
There are a few people here currently in OCS that I see post occasionally, so hopefully they can clear it up for us.
There is no "Leisure" as an Officer Candidate. Computers with internet access are provided, but they, like anything else at OCS are earned. You may want to have your laptop for candio phase, if you're given the opportunity to go to the internet cafe on base, or elsewhere on libo, etc. But don't expect to be chillin' in your pway facebooking your friends.
I apologize if mistaken, but "leisure" was used in the loosest terms possible. Thanks for answering my question...seems if laptops are *hopefully* earned for work, etc, there is no real need to bring mine from home. I'm sure there are plenty of other fun things to do in the candio phase than chill in the internet cafe. :icon_tong
