It's not an instruction, it's US Law so if you want to go Nerdy, then it's Title 10 of the United States Code (ie a Federal Regulation, which carries a lot more heat and jurisdiction than an instruction).

Yep. Title 10 USC pretty much rules. It's the law. Takes an Act of Congress to change it. Violate it is to be criminal with consequences.

I know, I know- my comment was tongue in cheek! :) (Part of me was secretly hoping some poor AWer would try to read Title 10--the whole thing--and their head suddenly explode sitting in front of the computer...)

Anyway, I'm pretty happy seeing all the pictures of our my Navy/Army/Air Force/Corps/Coast Guard. Never mind big government/small government/the-root-problems-of-XYZ/political commentary/hindsight for a minute, our folks and our iron are making a huge impact down there.

Pretty bad when our own PAOs mistake Navy aircraft on a Naval Base for Air Force ones...especially when it clearly says "United States Navy" on the fuselage.

I haven't taken any data on this, but it seems that aircraft in photos (especially H-60 variants) are mis-captioned more frequently than random guessing would provide.
