I served under Dick Marcinko in SEAL Teams 2 and 6. Got myself 2 Medals of Honor. I'd like to tell you about the missions I got 'em on, but they are classified super secret. Can't tell you what UDT class I was in because that's secret too and was in a secret location, back before they let people know where they are today. My skills as a warrior were so sought after that John Madden took me in an open tryout and I trained the entire 1984 LA Raiders squad, but we made sure my name wasn't on the payroll so the enemy couldn't find me. Let me know the next time you're at the bar so you can buy me a drink and I can tell you more stories I can't tell you about.
No shit ??? Then you must know my newest, best friend ... "Biff" ???

I briefed Bill Richardson twice for 10 minutes each time when he was the UN Ambassador and I flew him a couple of years ago when I worked for a fractional. He immediately recognized me when he got in the plane although it had been a few years and I had been just another junior nobody briefer at Southcom. He even remebered my name - "Hows it going LCDR HAL Pilot. I see that you've retired." That impressed me.

Seriously, who's voting for Hillary? Defend yourselves!

Brett

I shall! she's got the cash to go the distance, she's got the experience, she's got lots of women behind her, she's got her charismatic husband and his following, she's a cut-throat debater and a fighter, and will lead this country into a bright new era of...stuff.

yeah.

If Hillary did manage to get elected, it would mean we'd have the same 2 families controlling the White House since the late 80s... we're long overdue for new blood and that's what's going to stop her from winning.

somewhat agreed, although "new blood" didn't keep W out the second term.

I actually think Obama would be an excellent president, and curious to see if he'll go head to head with the hillary.

The conservatives claim Obama is an extreme liberal, but the statements I've heard out of him are of a uniter not a divider, which is what we need in the White House right now. He's definitely got charisma and seems to have rock star popularity wherever, and although he's not David Palmer from 24, he's the closest thing the current field has. It will be interesting to see what his specific views on the issues are as the primaries get closer.

From what I know of the guy, he seems extremely reasonable, which is what I'm most interested in. I'm pretty centrist, sort of repulsed by the extremes on either side. Hillary is definitely pretty hard core Dem, and that's going to hurt her because the country is kind of tired of this partisan crap, we need someone with a fresh outlook, fresh energy, and willing to go out on a limb for the best interest of this country as a whole. From the candidates, Obama has all that more than the others.

PErsonally, I see a charisma vacuum in McCain. And Lieberman always seems like he's kind of whining. wouldn't be my choice.

As usual, you need to pay attention. If you go by voting records, Clinton is WAY more of a centrist than Obama (whatever her real intentions are). They're all just playing to what they think will give them an advantage. Either way, if you go solely by what they say, you're a sucker and I've got a bridge to sell you.

McCain is too old now. If he runs they'll use the Bob Dole playbook on him

No, but my time serving during the last 4 years has made me question WTF my party has been doing.

Here's a short list:

-Running up record deficits (no fiscal retraint)
-Undermanned/underfunded military
-Brushing aside morals (Foley the molestor)
-More invasive executive branch (PATRIOT Act)

Does not sound like the party of Reagan to me.

I guess I'm thinking in terms of image...the age old Clinton-Bush Rivalry has made her loved and hated, but not much in the middle...sort of regardless of her voting record. Obama on the other hand doesn't have much of a record, and at least seems to be more accepted by conservatives and liberals alike than the H.

Please surrender your voting card to the nearest polling station.

Richardson has great international experience. If you've ever heard the man talk he always seems serious and very well educated and versed in a number of issues. If I had to vote Dem, it'd probably be him.
