Also Trump:
- At Arlington National Cemetery in 2017: “I don’t get it, what’s in it for them.”
- RE U.S. service members who died in combat: “losers” and “suckers.”
- RE American WWII cemetery in France: “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.”
- In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.
- Per General John Kelly: The president has repeatedly disparaged the intelligence of service members, and asked that wounded veterans be kept out of military parades, as their presence "doesn't look good for me."

When I was in high school in the '60s, the appropriate term was "dipshit".

In stark contrast to the shenanigans that 47 discussed at West Point, I was struck by seeing one of our own on Face The Nation this morning.

"...the best life is one lived adventurously and in service of a cause greater than one's self-interest. I'm doing that and if someday that does take me to office in service of the nation then by all means. But to live a life simply focused on the single goal of attaining public office is not in my mind a life purposefully lived...should not be the overriding goal of your life"

Well said Jack.

Not related, but this reminded me that Scott Speicher's son was an aviation intel O in one of my old air wings.

Interesting he was asked about elective office, then side-stepped it (wonderfully). His name has been floated for governor of AZ, and I am sure is setting up the organization and support. In my view he is far better then the leading GOP option.

Young guy, well spoken and charismatic, Naval Aviatior, looks good in a uniform, family name, can hold court in the aristocracy and among the people.

I've seen people draw comparisons of Jack McCain to Prince William. IMO that's not a bad thing.

I like Jack, generally speaking, but we should all be wary of these kinds of political dynasties. We should be more focused on experience and qualifications than what family they come from.
Like members of this flag officer dynasty?

Admiral Mustin.

Not because I’ve ever met them, but there also aren’t that many Navy Flag family dynasties to look up. And the Boat donkey part narrows it down further.
