Really? That's odd, unfortunately I didn't get a pro-rec for Suppo, so the July 15th board is my last shot this time around. If not it is another long wait for the next boards...:confused:

In general no news is not good news, some OR's don't like to call people and tell them they were a Pro N, some just hope the processor will send out the Pro N letters to the applicants, however sometimes OR's are on vacation and no one bothers to let his people know.

Persistence is key I guess, I was lucky enough to get a call. Out of curiosity, do you know when the next boards for SNA will be? Or do they just follow the same schedule as preceding years?

Until NRC fixes what they f****d up I would be ready for boards anytime.

They decided to do several things which include, go to application goaling, reduced boards, and physical prior to submission for the designators that have the largest number of billets, the problem is they have put off the physical requirement which mentally is a big step commitment wise, so you have recruiters trying to find people to "just apply", so when the quarterly boards happened you then get people who are not physical qualified for aviation or the USN in general, then you get people who decide not to take the position as they weren't really sold on the USN to begin with, this all results in billets not being filled according to schedule and then boards happening to fill spots.

The way NRC wants to change things is I think a good thing, but it has to ALL be utilized.

What do you mean go to application goaling?
 
It has to do with recruiters getting a certain amount of applications to a board. Regardless of a persons commitment, in the case of the last rolling boards it meant candidates were selected but never swore in, leaving billets un-filled.

OR's used to be goaled by those sent to OCS, so if you have 2 recruiters, recruiter A has 2 people submit and both go to OCS, recruiter B has 20 people submit but only 1 is selected and goes to OCS, then in the eyes of NRC recruiter A did more work.

They changed to application goaling since recruiters have no control over who gets selected, so they are evaluated on how many applications each OR puts in.

Ok thank you. Last question, I understand that you are retired but do you know how the FY13 quota worked out? I mean did they fill their pilot/NFO quota. If not does that mean the quota for FY14 increases?
