July 2013 and/or Rolling Board

Ok thank you. Last question, I understand that you are retired but do you know how the FY13 quota worked out? I mean did they fill their pilot/NFO quota. If not does that mean the quota for FY14 increases?

last I saw yes, and that seems to follow with people who were selected several months ago not getting OCS dates until July, and in regards to officer programs because of the career path and such they really can't just increase next years goal to make up for current shortfalls, a prime example is the IDC field, when a person has to be re-designated in OCS and becomes say Intel, that is one more spot filled for that FY's Intel goal, there were several here that are Intel who had OCS dates in FY13 and then had them changed to FY14, more than likely (as in past years) this was to accommodate those that changed to Intel in OCS that took those FY13 spots.

Do you happen to know the FY14 goals?

I saw some preliminary ones floating around, but the actual official goals aren't usually solidified until early fall, but they looked the same as past years, in general Pilot/NFO/SWO/Supply remain fairly constant.

I read your other comments on this form regarding shortage and rolling board. do you really mean that there are people who do not show up for opportunities like pilot and NFO. are there ?

It does happen. My recruiter told me that it usually happens when someone gets pro-Y for something they did not want and pro-N for something they did want, and consequently do not sign.

Does anyone know when the next board will be held? My OR is saying possibly September. I'm wondering if anyone else has heard the same.

As NavyOffRec explained it, they could happen anytime until NRC fixes the issue. It's on the previous page.

I've never seen dates for the boards from my recruiter, anything I've seen has been from AW. My guess (hope) is if things aren't squared away with this board we could see a rolling board through August and September like your OR said. Good luck!

There are declines all the time, much more now than in the past, some NRD's are seeing 50% decline/NPQ, when you have high selection rates and still have trouble meeting the goal that is a big red flag.

So really there is nothing they can do other than continue selecting in high rates and hope they are completely qualified right? Glad I got PQ'd and continue to hope nothing happens with my flight physical if I am selected.
