OCS 03Nov2023 SNA/SNFO Board

Ok, no worries. I think it will just come down to the number of billets they handed out yesterday. If it is similar to the last board (which was the average before the great backlog of 2022/early 2023) then most people will have a good shot given the lower number of overall applicants.
I have also saw on other posts from current SNA’s that they are saying wait times have started to come down which could be a good sign for us as well and be a sign the pipeline is opening back up. And the potentially the best news could be that maybe the board got more billets and are feeling the holiday spirit and want to spread the love.

Man Merry Christmas to use then!!! But ya most of the people that got accepted from the last board left for OCS already. The latest shipping out date that Pro-rec Y people were putting on the spreadsheet was 26NOV. Which more or less lines up with the official results/OCS dates from the last board that I saw.

So roughly 4-5 month wait from PRO REC Y would you say?

Some people got literally 2-weeks from when we found out… All the ones past about a month were exceptions.

I pushed mine to January originally scheduled for OCT. I had to finish physical therapy for a medical thing before I could leave.

I saw that for some people and thought that the board was out of their mind. They went from 6 months to a year wait, all the way to 2 weeks... talk about whiplash. I need at least a couple of months to get my life in order.

I was under the same impression, I was still in PT and I had to complete it or my back would’ve been in pieces in OCS. But it was not that easy to get moved…

Damn, well i don't think "Getting my life in order" would be a valid excuse to get it moved in that situation. Hope your making progress and will be ready to go next month!!

Based on a previous conversation about this same topic, @exNavyOffRec had replied:
nope, several on this site have talked about it, the last board had quite a few showed into classes that were coming up fast, more than likely that was due to openings that they could fill that weren't available earlier, and it is easier to put a person without an OCS date than to ask people if they would like to move up as those people have already made plans, and you don't have to contact a variety of people to see if the candidate can go earlier.
So im not too sure that the pipeline is back to such short wait times. I too am counting on a 3-4 month wait, I have several things that I need to square away before I can go. How difficult do you think it is to request that long of a hold off to ship out to OCS?

Did you put an "available date" on your APSR? From what I was told, this is your best bet at getting additional time before shipping. I had to put this on mine since I somewhat recently started at a company, and I'd like a few things to fully vest before leaving lol.

Unfortunately I did not.
