OCS 03Nov2023 SNA/SNFO Board

The program says immediate selection. But does that mean the immediate denial of anyone that doesn't meet those standards?? In the case where this program goes forward and affects this upcoming board, would anyone under the standards be immediately denied? Or would they be reviewed by the board as normal? Thoughts?

I think those beneath the standard ex. GPA would get graded by the Pro-Rec Board then if professionally would then forward to the OCS for review. In my opinion.

I talked to a friend who is a retired O6, and he said that to him it looks like you'll have the opportunity for immediate selection if you meet the criteria. If you don't, then you go to a board where they will look at more inputs that will allow you to provide more information where you can 'make up' for not meeting the criteria.

He also said it's no coincidence this came right before our board, especially considering there isn't another one scheduled for quite a bit.

That’s what I assumed, the Unrestricted Line Officer (URLO) In-Service Procurement Program (URLO ISPP) actually expired 2 years after the program authorization was signed which was 30 Nov 2021 and exactly 2 years from then this new program authorization came out.

Considering this PA was just signed a few days ago it wouldn't have allowed for the OCM to review and say yes to immediate selections, in most cases once a PA is signed it will be applied for any boards that have not had the deadline pass.

So in other words it is likely that this PA will not be applied to this board, but the next one in April?

I would assume that the PA took affect on the 30th of November to include our board. The OCM and board members had most likely been tracking the PA prior to it getting signed. Just my assumption. Does anyone want to call Paul C. ? lol.
