For those attending OCS in Dec with me, I have a FB group I created and a thread on AW!

There is also this thread created in the OCS Class Dates section of the forum.

How long does it take to get your official orders on average? I was selected on this board and completed my PRT last week with my recruiter. My OCS date is 26 Jan.

I believe you can get your orders when you get your FINSEL which is after you complete all the OCS processing docs and the clearance investigation is started. That’s what my recruiter told me and my date is 03 Nov.

Too piggy back on this. I just got off the phone with my recruiter and she said that they have been slow on the FINSEL and not getting those out until your closer to your ocs date. With my date being Jan 5th she said I probably won’t see my FINSEL and official orders until about Dec if they stay on the slow side of things.

Coincidentally just got my finsel today!

damn you got yours quick. I did my PT test a week after results came out
Yeah mine was very quick. My investigation was scheduled that Monday and then my finsel came in Tuesday. I was able to do my PT test at home. They just made me fill out a form with my results. Now all I need to do is go into the recruiting office to take the oath and get my official orders. I’m thinking that will be this coming week or the next.

If no waivers then you should be in the immediate selection criteria.
Hey there, can you explain I-SEL, is it a guaranteed slot?
My recruiter said I'm good for I-SEL, all I have to do is wait for my transcripts to come in and fill out the security clearance form with the personal statement. Do you take the aviation medical before you swear in, or is it after at OCS? I have my FAA 1st class medical and was already cleared with MEPS, but I have long legs and am worried that might interfere.

My scores
GPA: 3.31
OAF:56
7/7/7

To my understanding, I-Sel, or immediate select, is just that. Instead of having to submit a package to go through a professional recommendation board, which could take months, your package gets sent to an approving authority who can find you qualified and send to the next OCS class available.

It is not guaranteed, but if you meet the criteria the community manager can choose to accept you without going to a board, no reason to not submit to it if you meet the criteria for what designator you want. If they accept you for I-Sel, great, you skipped having to wait for a board. If they deny you then you just go through the board process like normal as if you didn't submit to I-Sel.

Aviation physical is at OCS.

MEPS doesn't clear officer candidates, they administer the physical and N33 clears based on basic officer standards, they then defer to NAMI for suitability in aviation programs.

Not correct if a person meets the requirements and has no waivers or disqualifying factors for ISEL they will bypass, see the below from the PA where it says "will" not "may".

There have been multiple people on this site who submitted thinking they qualified for ISEL but did not, that is on the recruiter for not making sure the applicant was fully qualified. If there are no billets available then they can't process the person, but at the same time they wouldn't be able to process anyone for that designator.

Does N33 do any preliminary checks for NAMI before submitting the application if they see your applying for SNA/SNFO? Like do they look for any immediate disqualifications based on your MEPS physical and medical history?
