04NOV24 SNA/NFO Board

What's going on guys. I was selected for my second choice on the 03SEP board, SNFO. I'm considering giving it another shot at SNA. I'm wondering if I should just count my blessings and take the SNFO contract now, and not risk delaying myself another year.

My recruiter told me only 30 people are getting picked up by the 04NOV board, not sure at the accuracy of this statement, but it would make sense the odds are slim at the end of the year. Wondering what y'all have heard in this arena

You would need to decline SNA, that could look bad to the board.

That isn't how OCS works, there are a set number of spots for each class and they try to fill each class no matter the time of year.

That's what I'm being told, after talking more I think I'm going to take the offer.

I thought I had been told they have a yearly quota to fill for SNA/SNFO. But I haven't always been getting the best info.

How does this work with actual OCS dates?

I submitted my package yesterday and listed a 1/1/2025 availability. I was just asked to be a groomsman at a wedding in May today. Would it be unwise to request a June start date? Would that look bad or cause me to be a less favorable applicant?

I have no issue potentially missing the wedding for this. But just wondering if it could have an adverse effect if I change the availability date to summer 25.
